I recently visited the Rose Garden Palace after checking out of another hotel. Barbara and Anna were so kind and professional I had to give many thanks for their service and advice. The hotel was clean and in a great location to visit all the main sites. 5 stars :)
Recently I Stayed in Rose Garden palace with my family and friends. The hotel location is very convenient to everywhere. It is walking distance to the hop on hop off bus stop. The room is very clean. Breakfast is excellent and a lot of food options. The staff of front desk is very helpful. They helped us to arrange transfer from hotel to Civitavecchia port.
The property is overall nice, rooms are large (although our triple required our 3rd person to sleep on a cot). My son and I were in a double. Everything was fine until my niece called me and said there was a bug in her bed at 1030PM (we have a video). We determined it was most likely NOT. a bed bug, but a carpet beetle. Still did not make her feel better. They moved their room after 11PM (we were leaving for airport at 6AM) so most of the night was lost. When I got home I emailed the manager as we received a room comp at another hotel when this happened once before but they basically dismissed the request and said the bug probably flew in as they opened the windows when they clean the room. Weird response. Who cares how it got there, the girls didn't sleep much. Also, fitness center was "broken". ??? I have also emailed Delta Vacations who booked this hotel, waiting for their response.…
We checked in and were told that the AC is only used from 6 pm until 12 pm. We checked in around 3:00 and it was over 80 degrees outside. Very hot and uncomfortable. Also were told that the bar downstairs would not be opening. This is ridiculous to us as we are paying almost 500 euros a night. We moved next door to the Westin (which is fabulous and amazing and has a bar AND ALLOWS THEIR PATRONS TO USE THEIR AC AS WE SEE FIT! Do not waste your money here. We were in the lobby with many angry customers. I feel sorry for the staff. They said they had been reaching out to management and had not received a response. We asked to speak to the manager and were told that the manager would be back on Monday (it’s Saturday). We were also told that the AC choice is a management decision to save money. After walking down the street and asking around to neighboring hotels, we realize this is not a city ordinance, this is literally one hotel that has decided to charge a premium price and offer below par service. Do NOT BOOK…
Excellent hotel, wonderful staff and lovely room. I wanted to try this hotel because of the parquet floors rather than the usual carpeting. It was also a treat to finally have a self service breakfast buffet. In many hotels this had been suspended. Will definitely come back.
Meh. The downside: Covid: If you are concerned about COVID protocols, I’d suggest you find a different hotel. Upon checking in, the hotel has guests sign a significant contract referencing your understanding of and willingness to adhere to covid protocols, however, the staff is absolutely unwilling to follow those protocols. The room did not seem to be cleaned each day. Multiple days, we had to ask for things to be replenished (coffee etc). There really isn’t a concierge, so be prepared to figure things out on your own. The upside: the location is great. I stayed here in 2019, and had a great stay as a part of a small group tour. This time, the the experience was markedly different. Summary: if you aren’t concerned about COVID, are capable of planning and executing the trip without hotel assistance, it is a good choice for a stay. If you have covid concerns, are put off by one sided contacts, or need hotel assistance, you should look elsewhere.…
Old structure, with some new features in the front desk. Extremely nice at the front desk, but the lady in charge ..... Room did not have modern features, fridge was warm, breakfast lousy with "guided" self service buffet. 250 a room it is way too much for something like this, whose only difference is being on the side street of the American Embassy. will not come back
Just got back from spending 3 days at this hotel. Arrived around 10 am with our family of 4, had 2 rooms and they were ready for us. The rooms were a bit small, but we were expecting that. Bathrooms were great, really nice size closet to get your stuff out of the way. To me this is a classic older, boutique hotel but we really liked it. Rooms were very nicely appointed, very clean, beds were super comfy and nice linens. Wifi worked great. It is a bit of a walk to the "action" and site seeing, but we liked the quiet neighborhood...... Other than the church bells ringing one morning, which we loved. Front desk staff was great. Only complaint was a guy in the restaurant seemed annoyed when we went down to get coffee, not breakfast. Kids weren't up yet, we just wanted to sit for a while. Seemed like we were bothering him (they were a little busy but not terrible) and had to ask several times for a refill. Other than that loved this hotel!…
Nice hotel in good and central location. Pool was perfect for our two boys (3 and 7). ONE BIG PROBLEM: A few hours after our arrival the power went out partially in our room. As we went out for dinner we told the receptionist who said he would take care of it. When we got back, nothing was solved so we went to the reception again and they called a technician who came quickly and tried to fix the missing power by switching it on and off for ages while we were trying to put our kids to sleep. In the proces, he smashed a picture frame so there was glass all over which he tried to clean up but didn't manage entirely. We then told him to come back the next day and it was fixed the next day but for 18 hours we had no light in the bathroom, glass on the floor and couldn't dry our hair nor make coffee which was all quite annoying. We received no compensation or even an apology which is just nok okay. I speak Italian fluently so it's not that they didn't understand me or that I didn't understand them! I expect better service at a 4-star hotel. Go for dinner at Fiorentino, Viva or Sapori d'Ischia around the corner.…
Stayed three days, two nights. About 40e FCO to hotel, anywhere between 45 and 60 mins depending on traffic. Didn’t try breakfast, but others told me it was good. Location spot on, walking distance to major sites with plenty of bars and cafes in the surrounding neighbourhood. Area felt very safe, armed police across the road protect the US commission to the UN might explain why!! Check in quick and friendly. Rooms adequate size and were very clean and superbly decorated and furnished. It’s more olde world charm meets modern in this hotel. Bathrooms had deep baths with showers over baths, my pet hate but bathroom size simply wudnt allow a separate shower cubicle. All in all, a good stay. I’d be happy to stay again.
