Good location on Via Vimanale right by the Opera House and 5 minutes from the train station. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good and staff was attentive. Not a luxury hotel but not bad . On second floor with recption on the ground floor. Management appears to be aware of guest's comments and replies to each one, which I find very...

Dear alhillScottsdale_az, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in my hotel and our service. Replying to guests comment is an important part of my job: you can learn a lot from guests reviews so I think the less I can do is answering to them to say thank you. I appreciate the fact you notice it! I really hope to...

We stayed at the Hotele Selene because we wanted to be within walking distance of the Termini station for our trip home and to explore some areas of Rome we hadn't caught at the beginning of our holiday when we stayed near the Vatican. We found the hotel to be conveniently placed, quiet, (our room did not face the street)...

We found this hotel through Rick Steves' guidebook and it did not disappoint. Located within walking distance of the Termini train station and Metro stop, there are also a number of excellent restaurants and shops nearby on Via Nazionale.

Rome was our last travel point in Italy, when me and my BF got to the hotel i was nervus to hear construction drillings and to find there wasn't any lobby and the stairway in the front looked really shabby and i thought i made a mistake booking here. this all changed once we reached the inside hallway, wich was...

Dear Ziva79, CONGRATULATIONS! You're the first (almost) bride on Hotel Selene, this is a honour for us! By the way, I'm planning to renovate lights in the rooms, so thank you for telling me about it. Stayed here with a group, traveling as a solo. My room overlooked the main street and a portion of the adjacent square. The weather was nice enough to ventilate the room through the large window. The room was immaculate. The bed comfortable. The bathroom very nice save for the hair dryer hose on which an attempted repair was made with...

Dear Fe, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in my hotel. I'm sorry for the hairdryer: the hairdryer company we work with delayd in shipping the new ones (by the way, they arrived) so please accept my apologies for that! We chose the Hotel Selene after reading some of the best reviews for a 3-star hotel in Rome and we have to admit it wasn’t great but it certainly wasn’t bad either. The Selene is a very convenient 5 minute walk from the Termini station which for those that don’t know Rome is the main hub for getting to and...

We had the misfortune to stay here one night and chose it as it was close to Termini. We may have just been unlucky but our room was so dark and dreary, tiny window and no window at all in the bathroom. You have to lie on the floor to acess the safe. We did not pay top price but...

Dear Sarah, I'm very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, but please let me answer some of your questions: q) We may have just been unlucky but our room was so dark and dreary a) It sounds strange to me. Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
