The hotel was a really old but well maintained building, located in a little charming Roman street. The reception staff was extremely nice and on top of things. To name an example, on our last night there, they were away we were checking out the next day and they offered their services to get transportation to the airport. They set...

The location is perfect, ten minutes’ walk from the railway station, but in a quiet side street, around the corner from churches S. Maria Maggiore and S. Prassede. Rooms are practical and very clean. I was careful about the shower though. It was the patent without a hose – water just comes down from above, with no chance to check...

Hotel Colosseum is an excellent choice for your stay in Rome. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the location is perfect. Set approximately 5-10 mins walk from the Colosseum itself, it really is in a prime location. It has its own 8th floor terrace (which provides panoramic views of Rome itself - see pics!) - Myself and...

We selected this hotel for our one night in Rome based on tripadvisor reviews, the location and website pictures and were not disappointed. The hotel is charming and clean and the staff very welcoming. The rooftop patio offered a lovely view and would be wonderful to enjoy if the time and weather allowed.

A little dated, but quaint and full of character. Also clean and in a very nice location: a quiet street near the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. Some rooms are a bit narrow, but they are also comfortable and well appointed. The bathrooms are quite clean and they appear to have been renovated recently. Every single member of staff was...

A very good location as it was very quiet after walking Romes busy streets. Excellent breakfast buffet and very comfortable beds. Staff very friendly and helpful. The view from the roof is amazing. Too cold to sit out in winter, but would be fabulous in the warm weather.

As a 3 star we weren't sure what we were going to get but were delighted on our arrival. The hotel is a little dated but it is clean, warm and does a lovely buffet breakfast included in the price. The only complaint came from the people next door. The walls are a little thin and we were stuck with...

Great hotel in a good location within 30 minutes maximum walking distance of all Rome's attractions. Rooftop bar is lovely, although in February you have to buy a drink in the downstairs bar and take it up to the rooftop. Wifi was excellent and the continental breakfast plentiful. We booked direct with the hotel which was the same price as...

Really nice, clean and tidy 3* hotel. Friendly and competent staff, good breakfast, not the biggest variety though. Only negative point: the Wifi connection was terrible. Location: just perfect and the rooftop terrace is really really nice.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Colosseum, a magnificent terrace overlooking Rome... Welcome to Hotel Colosseum. You are in the characteristic Rione Monti, one of the oldest and most picturesque neighbourhoods of the "Eternal City", in the peaceful and quiet Via Sforza, at n°10. Thanks to our exclusive location, in the centre of Monumental Rome, you will have the opportunity to visit the main tourist attractions on foot. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, you will find the Basilica of S. Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum and the Domus Aurea. Crossing Via Cavour will take you to Via Urbana. Called "Vicus Patricius" in antiquity, it is remembered above all for the visits, which tradition claims were made by St. Peter to the house of a Christian senator here. A short, scenic walk along the streets of Rome will also take you to the Imperial Fora and the Church of S. Pietro in Vincoli, which houses Michelangelo's famous statue of Moses. Hotel Colosseum is located at one of the highest points of Esquiline Hill and provides a 360° panoramic view of Rome and its surroundings from a splendid, furnished terrace on the eighth floor of the building, where the guests can enjoy the view while savouring a drink from our bar. All the rooms and common areas of the hotel have Wi-Fi coverage. An internet point is also available for use. At the reception, you can get information about all means of travelling through the city (taxi and bus services, car, scooter and bicycle rentals) and about guided tours. The stops of numerous city buses are a few meters from Hotel Colosseum and the "Cavour" (Line B) metro stop is about 3 minutes away on foot. The Termini railway station is 700 meters away. The hotel is situated in the historical centre of Rome, outside the limited traffic zone (ZTL); therefore, it is possible to get to us by car and park in the nearby partner garage. Otherwise, it is possible to book our fixed-price transfer and airport pick-up/drop-off service. ... more   less
