The roof top bar was a fantastic introduction to Rome. Down a quiet road but a great starting point for siteseeing. Comfortable room with pleasant view across the roofs towards the Colosseum. Breakfast had enough variety to keep us happy for three days. Staff were friendly and helpful. For a weekend break this hotel was a great choice.

Great location to explore the main sites of Rome - we even walked to Vatican City from the hotel. Rooms are dated in style but that's in keeping for the area. They are clean & we had 2 small bathrooms so 2 showers which was great for a family of 4. Breakfast was lovely - continental, lots of choice &... More

Centrally located, but on a quiet street the hotel was a great choice for our first visit to Rome. The room was quite small but had all that was needed; a comfortable bed, clean fully functioning shower room and a nice view towards the Colosseum. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and the roof top bar is a real bonus.... More

We have just come home from a wonderful holiday. We stayed at this hotel ...we were made to feel very welcome and will most definitely use this hotel again on our next visit! The hotel is situated 10mins walk from the Colosseum, with really friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean, comfortable and feel homely, with hairdryer and shower... More

If you want to stay at a clean, friendly, high standard hotel with a touch of an Italian feel to it then hotel colosseum is your place. I was worried at first because it was my first booking away alone, however it exceeded my expectations. Gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming, and another gentlemen helped carry our bags... A little gem hidden in the back streets of Rome. Perfectly located for the sires of the colosseum, Trevi fountain and a nice walk to the Vatican City to take in the sites on the way. Perfectly adequate rooms and necessary aircon. Staff are great, breakfast was basic but ideal too.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it! Breakfast is totally OK, clean room and friendly staff. The awesome things are 1) the location only a 10 minute walk to termini train station, 5minute walk to the hop on hop off bus stop. Plenty of restaurants all around it but still on a quiet little road. And 2) the... More

Dear Ardnas N, thank you for writing. Your description is complete.I would add that the Colosseo and Roman Forum are within walking distance, like the Opera House and Domus Aurea. On the rooftop terrace we have the bar service from 6 pm. until midnight. You can enjoy an aperitif before dinner or a drink after dinner, both with a great view... More

Slightly out of the way, but still only a 15 min walk to the Colosseum, Forum, etc. Rooms clean and adequate. Best part is the roof top patio; great views. We used the patio all 4 nights at the hotel. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Would stay again when in Rome.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Colosseum, a magnificent terrace overlooking Rome... Welcome to Hotel Colosseum. You are in the characteristic Rione Monti, one of the oldest and most picturesque neighbourhoods of the "Eternal City", in the peaceful and quiet Via Sforza, at n°10. Thanks to our exclusive location, in the centre of Monumental Rome, you will have the opportunity to visit the main tourist attractions on foot. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, you will find the Basilica of S. Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum and the Domus Aurea. Crossing Via Cavour will take you to Via Urbana. Called "Vicus Patricius" in antiquity, it is remembered above all for the visits, which tradition claims were made by St. Peter to the house of a Christian senator here. A short, scenic walk along the streets of Rome will also take you to the Imperial Fora and the Church of S. Pietro in Vincoli, which houses Michelangelo's famous statue of Moses. Hotel Colosseum is located at one of the highest points of Esquiline Hill and provides a 360° panoramic view of Rome and its surroundings from a splendid, furnished terrace on the eighth floor of the building, where the guests can enjoy the view while savouring a drink from our bar. All the rooms and common areas of the hotel have Wi-Fi coverage. An internet point is also available for use. At the reception, you can get information about all means of travelling through the city (taxi and bus services, car, scooter and bicycle rentals) and about guided tours. The stops of numerous city buses are a few meters from Hotel Colosseum and the "Cavour" (Line B) metro stop is about 3 minutes away on foot. The Termini railway station is 700 meters away. The hotel is situated in the historical centre of Rome, outside the limited traffic zone (ZTL); therefore, it is possible to get to us by car and park in the nearby partner garage. Otherwise, it is possible to book our fixed-price transfer and airport pick-up/drop-off service. ... more   less
