Well firstly let me say , it was great value for Rome and close to the train station . It went downhill when I arrived, informed that the elevators were broken and wouldn't be fixed for 3-4 days. My room was on the third floor, so carry up luggage three flights was not ideal. There was no offer to help... More

This was our first overnight stay in Rome. The Hotel is centrally located. We arrived on the Friday afternoon, and were a little early for check in. The Reception staff spoke excellent English and were happy to securely store our bags for us, as our room wasn't available. We came back later on to check into our rooms. THe rooms... More

It is very close to many of the major historic spots (walkable to almost everything) and in a safe location. Short walk from train station. The rooms are clean and well kept although on the small side. While the location is great for sightseeing, you will need to make dinner plans elsewhere as there are no non-tourist restaurants that we... More

Is a 5 min walk from the station but is worth it. This hotel is on a street without street stall and homeless people. Is right opp a residential apartment . We feel safe there. So glad to have choose this place instead of any hotel on VIA GIOVERTI..

Hotel Commodore is well located near Roma Termini and on walking distance from the main tourist hotspots. Despite this central location, outside sounds don't intrude into the rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the room was spotless with an efficient air con. The breakfast buffet offers a reasonable choice. Negative points of this hotel are the outdated... More

The reception was very helpful!! Room was fine, little noisy but for a 3 night stay in Rome it was good. Location also good. We walked everything, trastevere and even Vatican, though it was +- 45 mins

The location was pretty good. 5 minutes walk from Termini station. It is the ONLY good thing about this hotel though. The hotel room is super old. I have no idea how the star rating system in Italy works, but this hotel is a 4 star hotel, which sounds like something similar to Sheraton, Hilton, etc etc. No. There were... More

Miserable hot dirty hotel. Management decided to turn off A/C and restaurant on October 1 when it's still in the high 70's. Don't stay here. They advertise 4 stars - more like 2 stars. REFUSED to stay !

We travel a lot. This is the first hotel that we actually cancelled the minute we checked in. Management made the decision to turn the air conditioning and restaurant/bar off on October 1st while the temperature was near 80 degrees. We found the hotel to be old, stuffy and very worn. Can't believe it was ever classified as a 4... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
