This hotel has been recently refurbished, and the rooms--although smallish--are in pristine conditions. On the good side is its excellent location, on a quiet small street, 100 m from the Quirinale Palace and within walking distance of most attractions. The weak side is breakfast. Probably in consideration of the COVID emergency, the buffet has been limited to hard-boiled eggs, plastic foiled bread loaves and packaged danish pastry. With two attendants and few customers, they should have closed the buffet and offered table service with a better choice of more palatable items.
Right in the heart of Rome, still quiet and nice, on a small side alley. In Bolivar, you are literally just steps away from the main, central attractions, as well as the shopping. The hotel welcomes you with a great exterior. Well inside you will be struck with how cozy it feels, supported be the very kind and professional service at the reception desk. The entrance lobby also has a small bar. Then up to the room. There is an elevator, rather small but still taking two persons with luggage. The room we had didn’t have much of a view, understandable as Bolivar, like most buildings in Rome, is surrounded by - exactly - buildings. Otherwise: not huge, again, but sufficient, and very nicely decorated. Excellent bed, as well as bath, and size-wise, well, in central Rome you are more than unlikely to remain in the room for more than sleep anyways. One thing that really needs a mention: the breakfast room on the top floor, which really makes you feel the Dolce Vitae! Panoramic view, very cozy, and the breakfast is just brilliant! As anyone might guess st this point, yes, I do recommend this hotel - both gor its qualities, and for the location. One thing I forgot: no restaurant in Bolivar, but worry no, an abundance of them nearby, and the guy at the desk will be more than happy helping you select and book.…
The 4 pluses that make Comfort Hotel Bolivar a keeper is the extremely helpful English speaking front desk attendant, the great Rome sights location, the cleanliness, the in-room facilities with a wonderful towel warmer. It would be perfect if they just did a minimum upgrade of bedding and window coverings! 1-The Gallery Hotel in Barcelona was fantastic! The personnel were beyond helpful--we cannot say enough good about them and Gary sent our positive review. The hotel is in a perfect location, is up-to-date and spotless. We loved it! 2-Hotel Bolivar was just what you said, questionable 4 stars, probably due to the out-of-date decor! But the 4 pluses that make it a keeper is the helpful English speaking clerk, the location, the cleanliness, the in-room facilities (and that wonderful towel warmer that was our tender mercy clothes dryer when we returned from our Rome drenching downpour tour!). It would be perfect if they just upgraded the bedding and window coverings!…
Best attribute: its location. The Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Palatine Hill, Colosseum, and other Rome tourist spots are within walking distance of this hotel which makes it a convenient base for sightseeing in Rome. The Vatican is a bus ride away although we opted to take a cab so we can make our Vatican tour on time. Several eateries (restaurants, fast food, gelateria) are also close by along with souvenir shops. The train station (Roma Termini) can be reached by bus or cab but if you're the walking kind (and without luggage), it is about a 20-minute walk. The front desk is manned by friendly English-speaking staff (Massimiliano, Valerio). We checked in before noon having arrived at Fumicino at 0900. Massimiliano got us a room within 30 minutes knowing we were tired and jet-lagged (Grazie mille Massimiliano!).The free breakfast (with a rooftop view) offering various pastries, cold cuts, boiled & scrambled eggs, and bacon) was a plus. Drinks offered included juices and several coffee brews. Their capuccino was one of the better ones I had during our Italy vacation. While the room was small typical of Italian hotels, our room and the bathroom were cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided. The AC and TV were both fine. There is a small elevator and free WiFi is available. We stayed for 4 nights. We will stay in this hotel again next time we visit Italy. A couple of notes: 1 -towels in Italian hotels are generally not the towels as we know in the United States. 2 - don't expect crispy bacon in Italy. :D…
I spent 5 Days with my family we booked two rooms both of them are very small with bad conditions the WiFi is not working & the level of the hygiene is very poor, AC is not working well!!! Bad experience & I will not repeat it again.
