Last summer I stayed at the Bettoja Massimo D'Azeglio and I intended to do the same when I go back to Rome but this year's trip was planned on short notice so the rates were much higher than my budget. That's when I found hotel Atlantico and decided to give it a try. It was right opposite hotel Massimo and... More

Great place to stay. Central, excellent room and facilities. Very good staff. Lovely food. Would stay again definitely. Like most hotels only provides table for one suitcase. Why do they all insist on this? Otherwise no bad points at all.

Perfect choice for a stay in Rome. Excellent location by Termini station and still close enough to walk to all major sites. We stayed during our honeymoon at the end of June 2016 and the staff accommodated our request for a room with a balcony and even upgraded us for breakfast at the roof garden and delivered a single red... Great location with nice rooms and excellent breakfast. Staff recommendations' were spot on for restaurants. Near train terminal with easy access to Metro. My third time to stay there. Will stay there next time in Rome.

We booked 2 rooms. One with King Bed one with two twin beds. We stayed here for 5 days/4 nights. Pros: 1. Right across the street from the Termini Train station. 2. Right across the street from the Hop on/off bus. 3. On the same street as the Colosseum (walking 20 min). 4. Plenty of food next to hotel. 5.... More

We stayed here for three nights and could not have been happier. The rooms are well appointed and the bathroom is a good size. From the fourth floor we had a charming view of the traffic and tooting past below us. If we got sick of it (never -this is Rome, a very entertaining city), we could always close the... More

Had booked a triple. Expensive hotel and we did not get good service. Hotel would not turn on air-conditioning. We paid for air-conditioned hotel. Thermostat in room but hotel kept unit off. Felt miserable. Had to open windows at night to get some air in. Room in second floor so heard noise from streets. Some staff members in front desk... More

This hotel is great. I stayed here with my girlfriend, we are a young couple, who was visiting Rome for the first time. I can honestly say the location of the hotel is perfect. If you need to catch the underground you are right near it. Also the Coliseum is only down the road. There are restaurants down the road... More

We were a delegation to a global union conference held at Sheraton Roma Hotel from 12-16 March. Instead of staying at the conference hotel, we opted for Atlantico in central Rome upon recommendation of an Italian friend who stays there regularly. From the moment we checked in early on Sat morn to the moment we left the following Wed, we... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
