Quite old but the essential infrastructure has been renewed (bathroom). Bed OK. Too warm in bedroom and impossible to open the window because of street noises. Breakfast basic and OK, not more. Borderline friendly service, especially the morning desk man... Even not free water in the room, let's forget coffee completely!

Hello, Thank you for your comment and rating. The wooden furniture in the rooms is all original, and is routinely maintained by our in house carpenters. This is a stylistic choice of the Bettoja family who prefer to maintain the characteristic feel of their hotels. We are sorry about the heat in the room, and the noise. Unfortunately, via Cavour is quite busy and although we have changed the windows recently, fitting soundproof ones, when the windows are open the noise travels inside and we have little control over this. What we do have control over however is the temperature in the rooms: there is a thermostat within the room which allows the guest to change the temperature within a limit of 5 degrees. If guests want to modify the room temperature further they may phone the front desk who will then regulate the room temperature from the central heating which is controlled at the reception. As for the borderline friendly service, I apologise, and shall speak to the men who work at the front desk, and pass along your comment to stimulate better customer service in the future. Warm regards, Irene Lodigiani Guest Relations Manager

This hotel is perfectly located due to its proximity to Termini train station making it especially easy to reach from the airport via the Leonardo Express. We also have chosen this location multiple times for its walking access to many of the best sights in Rome including the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and so much more. On our most recent stay in September our only one complaint was the street noise that woke us up a few times. The windows were closed but they don’t seal well. If you have a choice, ask for a room either on a higher floor or away from the street out front. The breakfast buffet offers a great selection for every appetite.

Hello, Thank you for your kind review. We are glad you enjoy our location and exploring Rome by foot, as well as our breakfast buffet. We are sorry about the noise and are currently working to have better insulation, and change the seals on the windows to improve the insulation. Please visit us again soon! IFL

We arrived late on an October afternoon and the first thing I noticed when we entered our room I noticed was spilled wine on the floor. The next morning, I found toe nail clippings on the floor from previouse guests. This was super gross! We mentioned to the front desk the next morning. They were not removed for two days! Even after that, the floors were not mopped, the spilt wine remained along with other filth on the floor. Huge dust blobs were under the bed! The art deco that was advertised was only found in the joint breakfast buffet area, along with the art deco. Apparently, the hotel does not have a buffet but shares a hall with the hotel next door. The buffet was vast and the food was good. Our room was stark with only the fire escape map was found. Our bathroom light was out for two days after this was noted to the maintenace man who came about the exceptionally slow drainage in the shower. Do not stay here if you expect a clean room. This place is a sad bleak place to stay. On a positive note, this hotel was close to many sites and the train station.

Hello, We are extremely sorry about the light and water issues in your room, and especially appalled to hear about the nail clippings and dustballs. However, we are thankful for your comment as it allows us to take serious action in regards to our cleaning staff and housekeepers. Hotel Atlantico and Hotel Mediterraneo are run by the same family, and the two Hotels share over 300 rooms, as well as the breakfast buffet. In a structure as large as ours it is extremely sad when the work of a single individual reflects poorly on the efforts of all other employees working hard to maintain the standards of our Hotel. Indeed, it is important for us to highlight that the conditions of your room do NOT reflect the standards of cleanliness of our Hotels, otherwise we would have shut our doors long ago. Following your comment, the Director of the Hotel personally visited the room, and confirmed its state. This in turn led to a series of meetings with the head housekeepers and general cleaning staff to get to the bottom of the issue, and especially to reconfirm the cleaning routine and the standards the rooms are held to. We hope that these actions will positively impact upon the cleanliness of our rooms. Once again thank you for your comment, as it has allowed us to take action against the one or two individuals bringing down the efforts of our entire team. Kind regards, IFL

Small rooms with a very small bathroom. Very sad breakfast, so boring. Terrible quality compared with hotels of the same range in other European capitals. Outreageous expensive for what you get.

Dear Eneacalza, we are sorry your Roman experience has been such a disaster, we do hope you will have bettere experiences in the future. I really do not know how to answer such negative review, the only thing I can say is that the absolutely negative reviews are less than 5% of total reviews on our hotel, this must certainly mean something.

Nice functional hotel, so close to the Railway Station. Room was huge, although view wasn't great - perhaps a room on the other side of hotel would be better. Breakfast was very nice, but breakfast room was very crowded, noisy and busy. The Hop on Hop off buses leave from just around the corner which is great. On our 2nd time around we got off at the Colosseum and after a good look around then just walked back to the hotel from there, an easy walk. (It was a very hot day so we did stop at a small corner bar for a beer on the way back!) The staff was very helpful.
