We stayed at the Colonna Palace in mid September and it was a great hotel to stay in for any visit to Rome. It is within easy walking distance to all the sights (except Vatican City and Coliseum, which are 30 minute wallks at most). The Pantheon is literally a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel shares a... More

I would endorse all the compliments noted by other reviewers. Our five-day stay at Colonna Palace was extremely pleasant. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Our room was not luxurious but comfortable, and spacious by European standards. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a delight. The location is great, with an abundance of restaurants within waliking distance, as well... More

We have booked the hotel directly through their website after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. Best part of this hotel is location. It was absolutely perfect, 3 minutes to Pantheon, 5 mins to Trevi Fountain and 10 mins to Spanish Steps. 20-30 minutes to Colloseum and Vatican. We never used public transportation and... More

Pro's: great, safe location for being in the middle of Rome. Easy walk to most historical sights. A public bus about 50 meters from the hotel takes you to the front of the Vatican for 1 euro. Very nice breakfast on rooftop with fabulous view. Exceptionally friendly and helpful front desk. Con's: Lobby is dark, worn and smells a bit... More

After months of pouring over reviews, we finally selected the Colonna Palace Hotel, despite its mixed reviews. We chose this hotel primarily for its location, and in that we were not disappointed. We were able to walk to everything--the Vatican was about a 30 minute walk, the Colosseum was about a 15 minute walk, and, if you don't mind an... More

The Colonna Palace Hotel is in a fantastic location in the parliament square. This means that it is in a very safe area as there are always guards outside. It is only two minutes walk from the Pantheon Square with loads of restaurants and bars. We chose to eat there most days as we tried some other places but found... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights and it is nothing spectacular. The room was not impressive, but the bathroom was spacious and the location was great. I would advise against staying here for a honeymoon or anniversary as it is not romantic. It was difficult for us to sleep as the walls are thin and... More

We stayed for 3 nights in late April. Hotel is directly opposite the Roman parliament building and in quiet central location. Very close to the Pantheon - 3 minutes and less than a 10 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. Very friendly staff who speak english. Rooms are clean. Breakfast on the rooftop has a nice view with both hot... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
