This Hotel was wonderful. We would stay there again! We arrived hot and tired from our long trip from the States and Leonardo was there to greet us and make us feel welcome. He was very helpful with all our requests, even suggesting a department store close by, and really helped out in attempting to locate our missing luggage. The... More

I visited the hotel with my mother in June. The air con was a blessing as Rome was experiencing very hot weather over 36 degrees. Our room was on the ground level at the back of the hotel which was good as my mother has difficulty with stairs. It was compact but had very pleasant furnishings and a lovely bathroom.... More

Being American I was a little shocked by the small size of the hotel room at first. But it was in a good location and the help was very pleasant. Clearly as old and small as everything else in Italy. It is a one block walk to the Vatican Museums and two block walk to St. Peter's. There are also... More

Have just returned from 4 days at this lovely hotel in Rome. We arrived at the airport and for 2 euros each were able to reach the hotel in under 40 mins, service bus at the airport to the metro then the red line to Ottoviani San Pietro, hotel only a very short walk from the metro station in the... We have just returned from a 3night stay and have no complaints about this pleasant little hotel. Our 3rd floor rooms were spacious and comfortable as well as having en-suite facilities.Ideally situated for the Vatican we found the staff helpful and knowledgable. After reading the rather poor reports concerning the breakfasts, we were pleasantly surprised to find an adequate selection of cereals,rolls,... We stayed at the Amalia for 8 nights in November 2005. I love neighborhood and location of the hotel. It is just a block from the Vatican wall and entrance to the Vatican museum. The lovely ensuite rooms on the upper 3 floors are remodeled and very comfortable. The rooms on the first 2 floors have shared baths are best... More

My mother and I stayed at the Hotel Amalia for 4 days and we were pleasantly surprised by our room after having read so many bad reviews regarding mid-priced European hotel rooms. Our room, though small by American standards (which is the case everywhere in Europe) was extremely clean, as was the much larger than expected modern equipped bathroom. The... More

Great little hotel. The location is perfect, being just a short walk from the Vatican and a Metro. Its is a doddle to get to and from Fiumicino airport and everything you want to see is either a short walk or a few stops away on the Metro. The hotel remarkably looks as per the photos - and it is... More

I stayed here in September 2004 with my mum - we both enjoyed it and had no complaints so I did not hesitate to book again - the hotel is in an excellent location and the rooms are clean and well-sized and the breakfast adequate. Unfortunately a few things soured our stay this time around. We found the reception staff... More

I stayed here in January 2005 for a long weekend. As it was on a half-price winter offer I had no complaints about price. There are no public areas, just rooms and a reception desk. The lift is quite old, with a metal grille for the door. The plus points are location, about ten minutes walk from St Peters Square... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
