Perfect place for a hotel, one block to the taxi stand, restaurants around every corner, and a few blocks from the Vatican. Couldn't ask for a nicer staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Laura helped us with anything we needed, and spoke very good english.
Perfect location in the Prati area a few minutes walking distance from the Vatican, St. Peter's, and Castello Sant' Angelo. Metro stop nearby to hit any of the other famous sites and the Rome subway seems the easiest to navigate of any country I've visited. Local and international shopping just a few feet away on a boulevard comparable to Las Ramblas, Champs Elysees, or Michigan Avenue. Trastevere and all it offers just to the south. Gorgeous (French Empire?) decor in a relaxing room, great breakfast, all hosted by charming (Laura) and her family. Too short of a stay!
Hotel Dei Consoli – unique, hospitable, very central near St. Peter's Basilica and the warm hospitality of Signora Laura and her mother Amelia, Since it is a family run hotel we were always feeling very special like home.
Three amenities have to be necessarily mentioned: central but rather quiet location near St. Peter's Basilica and Square, big enough rooms with new mattresses (not too soft) according to Hilton standard and - last but not least - the warm hospitality of Signora Laura. Since it is a family run hotel we were always feeling very comfortable.
Laura and her family have run this intimate hotel for three generations. We were welcomed with friendly smiles, offered refreshment immediately. Our room was European deluxe size, economical but not spacious. Every detail was beautiful: comfortable beds, the bathroom beyond expectations. Upstairs on the rooftop terrace, with picturesque view of the city near the Vatican, Amalia made a lovely breakfast each morning. Cappuccino as fine as you’ll ever have, and attentive service. She wanted us to be happy. This terrace would be a perfect place for a private event. We enjoyed every moment. Definitely a place to return to!
It is my third visit to Hotel Dei Consoli, an outstanding family-run boutique hotel. I will only stay here when in Rome! From start to finish, Laura & Amata made us feel as though we belonged in this house and we were the most favored guests! Laura suggested that her driver Mattia meet us at Rome FCO on arrival from Chicago—superb to be escorted in a luxury auto, to check-in, unpack, and relax! Breakfasts on the rooftop terrace with the perfectly-tuned baby grand piano nearby us, and the view of the dome of St. Peter’s in the distance! THANK YOU! See you next year! Donna
Superb family-run hotel Laura enthusiastically accommodated our off-beat requests. Her mum’s special breakfast on the roof terrace was a pleasure each day Good location for the Vatican, subway and local rather than tourist restaurants. Good internet.
We had a verv nice stay at Hotel dei Consoli. The location is perfect to visit the top sights in Rome (especially Vatican). Also the Hotel itself is worth visiting with its noble furniture and paintings in the corridors. Also the host family was very friendly! Thank you again for being your guests :)
I can’t imagine staying anywhere other than Hotel Dei Consoli. We booked this hotel based on the referral of an aunt who stayed there about 10 years ago. This was our first trip to Italy, and upon landing in Rome at 6am local time, Laura from the hotel had booked us an affordable, flat rate limo ride directly from the airport to hotel, where she allowed us to check in at 7am. After a warm greeting, Laura explained that the hotel had been in her family for multiple generations. It showed. The entire hotel experience felt like home and is in a perfect location in Rome, walkable to pretty much anywhere, and especially close to the Vatican. Every morning, Laura’s mom makes an incredible Italian breakfast on the roof of the hotel (featuring some of the best croissants and espresso/cappuccino). Waking up for this each morning was a highlight of the trip. Laura was also incredibly helpful with giving us advice and info on traveling around the city and country as a whole. We felt so comfortable and taken care of in every way. If you’re looking for a hotel that can serve as an ideal home base or even just one nighter, book here!!!…
This hotel is perfect located for a trip in Roma – the staff is absolutely friendly and helpful! The rooms are super clean and beautiful! We would be glad to come here again. In summery I recommend this hotel for city trips as well as businesstrips! The hole staff are familymembers and you will feel this behind the service!
