The staff was nice but the room was very small. Hard bed which they fixed with a foam pad. No coffee or food allowed in room. Breakfast was not good. Expired butter! Bruised fruit. Cold eggs. Instant coffee I think. Area is safe but lots of graffiti

Gorgeous hotel in quiet location yet central to railway and bus terminal. Clean, love the decor, small room with balcony overlooking orchard...very pleasant. Breakfast was good, concierge very helpful at finding us a wonderful restaurant he suggested which we loved. Lifts little small but appreciated and bathrooms had all amenities needed...loved our stay.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and had a wonderful experience. This time the check procedure was irritating. We had a booking for 3 people for 2 nights and needed to add one more night. I realize there is an extra charge for the third person. However the manager would not let me finish a single sentence.... More

Unfortunately, because if one super rude employee I have to give this hotel a bad review. We have been staying here since yesterday and were satisfied until just now when we got back and the receptionist stopped us at the door demanding to know what we wanted. We told him we were staying here but he still didn't let us... More

We stayed at the Hotel Astoria Garden for a total of 8 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed every single evening !!!! We can't complement the staff enough !!! Lorenzo, Ulrich & Ceresi & Paoli were OUTSTANDING !!! They made you feel so very welcome and actually "cared" about your stay at their wonderful hotel. The Hotel was beautiful, the Courtyard... The double room we stayed in was not as nice as we thought they would be in comparison to the whole setting of the hotel, but we did enjoy our stay here after a mishap with our BNB. Location is very central to a lot of things. We actually were able to walk to the Colosseum from the hotel (approx.... More

I liked staying here. The positives. I thought breakfast was quite good, nicely presented and food for all eating habits. Yougurt, fruit, fresh and canned. Eggs, cheese, meats and sweets. The breakfasr room attendent made me a cappucino from the bar upstairs. It is not necessary to rely on the coffee machine in the breakfast room. Also, of course the beautiful,... More

The hotel is close to the main train station, which is also where the airport shuttle bus will drop you off. It is within a comfortable (and pleasent) walk from the main attractions. There is also a good internet connection.

It's a few blocks from the train station. The staff is very professional. It has a quiet garden and is a delightful, quality place to stay. The location is great. 3 blocks from Termini (the train station), and the staff speaks perfect English and more. No issue is too much for them to handle. I have traveled for many years... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
