This hotel was bought out by another association and the main lobby has been updated. The rooms are okay and the breakfast buffet has a lot to be desired as it has gone downhill. The location is great - walking distance to the Vatican, Trevi fountain, Piazza Navonna and other interesting places.

Average style hotel in great location in easy walking distance to main historic and tourist attractions in the City of Light. Staff very helpful. Internet rather slow. Variety of foods for breakfast good. Electric jug, tea/coffee facilities in room very welcome.

We arrived and they put us in the incorrect room. The man who checked us in(eyes rolling and grumbling) said to deal w it for one night and they would change it the next day. i asked if we would be compensated and he suddenly was inspired to find us a correct room. the second to last night in the hotel... Really the bare essentials. The facilities are rundown and the floor is carpeted - something really not suited to Rome's climate. We had both the American and Italian continental breakfast, on separate days. They were included in the price. The coffee in the American section was ordinary from one of those machines. You can get a real coffee in the... More

We stayed for a couple of nights and found the location superb. It's really close to the Vatican (only about 5 minutes walk) and within easy walking of all the other historic attractions. The room was a little old fashioned but very clean and had all the amenities needed. The breakfast buffet had everything you could think of (cereals, cold... More

Stayed in one of the suites, top floor, top notch. Not far from all the sghts and sounds of this amazing city, breakfast was ok and the hotel was clean and tidy not far from the metro too. Great location

Great location but very outdated. The lobby/bar and staff were great but the rest could use some work. Breakfast was absolutely horrible. Eggs runny, bacon raw and the coffee machine constantly broke. The rooms are outdated and the air barely works. The Wi-Fi never worked on my phone and barely worked on my kindle. The best I can say is... More

The hotel is in within 10 to 15 minutes walk from the historical sites and known attractions which is a plus. As for the rooms it needs some serious renovation. As for the service it was good and attentive

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cicerone hotel is a large, bright, modern building perfectly inserted in the nineteenth century architectural style of the Prati district. In spite of its large size the hotel is very warm and welcoming providing a very comfortable environment for guests. Communal areas are filled with elegant sofas and all those small touches usually found in smaller boutique hotels. ... more   less
