Summary: Made a lovely change from staying in a large modern 'chain' hotel as I normally do at a reasonable cost and its recommended. On a business conference in Rome where we used the Duke Hotel. It seems to be in a residential area which threw us a little on arrival as there is just a small frontage - the... More

You couldn't get the same quality hotel near the Historic Centre for the price of the Duke, so the price is reflective of the rather remote location of the hotel. The hotel runs a shuttle to Piazza del Popolo every 30min or so, but its a small van that takes 6 and you have to book ahead of time or... More

My family and i stayed at the Duke Hotel in Rome and the experience was wonderful. The hotel is close to some of the main attractions of Rome and can arrange for tours for the rest. They have a shuttle bus to Piazza Del Popollo which is a walking distance to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. The family room... More

We chose this hotel, as the Hotel was close to the Convention centre, about a kilometer only... One major problem is that this is on a side road in the midst of residential apartments. Even though there is a metro station at walkable distance, the walk back is quite a climb. Service is OK.. Free internet at business desk with... More

We booked the Duke Hotel, Rome, through Lastminute.com for a short stay over the New Year period. The appearance of the hotel from the outside was smart, and the welcome was warm. Room was comfortable with a large bed and good plumbing. It would have been nice to have a kettle and tea-making facilities in the room for that 'early... More

I spent one night at the Duke Hotel during a business trip. The room was overall clean and comfortable, the place quiet and personnel very helpful. The price, with our corporate rate was around 102 euro which seems quite reasonable considering the location.

We spent 5 nights at the Duke before our cruise. We had a wonderful 2 bedroom suite. The one shown in the pictures. It is a really good hike into the city or you can catch the city us just a block away. The shuttle is very reliable but only takes you to the edge of the tourist sites. We... More

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days . It was a nice hotel . The shuttle was very good and on time. Its not close to the centre so you need to rely on the shuttle or taxis. The breakfast was good but the room was tiny ! We ate supper there twice and it was amazing .

I know that if you read some of the reviews here, it may scare the junk out of you. If you are a good traveler and not a snob, don't let these scare you. My wife and I stayed here a week and enjoyed the stay. Here’s what I think of the following: 1) Room: The room we had was... More

After a long plane ride and a confusing experience with the cab driver (the €48 sign on the side of the cab only applies to the ancient city) Maximo at the front desk of The Duke was a breath of fresh air. Every question we had throughout our three night visit was answered with a calm smile. They recommended restaurants,... More

Staying in Parioli

Neighborhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
