Not in the heart of the city at all but you are saving money for more of what Rome has to offer. If you're on the 5th floor, the heat is intense and nothing can be done to lower it. The breakfast was mediocre at best, no fresh fruit and really nothing changed each day.

Lovely hotel with an Italian flavor It has beautifully decorated rooms, well appointed bathrooms, and a lovely lobby and garden bar. It's in a residential area of Rome, off the beaten path. It isn't too far from Piazza Popolo, and within a half hour walking distance from the Vatican. It's close to the Tiber River, but not close to any...

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Giulio Cesare. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, the breakfast really good. Most importantly, though, the service was terrific. When we had to leave early in the morning to catch a plane, the hotel prepared a breakfast bag for us to take with us. Then when I realized that I had left...

The hotel is a bit old and needing some renovation. The rooms are a bit stuffy and many things did not work in the room (air conditioning, shower sink). However the breakfast was very good and the room is comfortable enough. The location of the hotel is very good and the price is not expensive for Rome standards. Considering the...

My daugher and I stayed in this hotel November 25 - 28. Impeccable service! Amazing Breakfast spread! Very classy, cozy and elegant hotel. It has all the modern amenities but kept the classic European hotel feel. The staff goes out of their way to take care of you. We had an early tour leaving at 6:30 am to Amalfi coast....

Our group of 9 spent 3 nights at Giulio Cesare in October. We were all very pleased with this hotel. My room on the first floor was quite large and very elegant, while a tad noisy. The beds were extremely comfortable, the service kind and efficient, and the breakfasts quite good. One of the prettiest breakfast rooms I've ever seen in...

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for four nights. The positives about this hotel are about the staff. The gentlemen at the front desk and the bar area were very helpful during our stay. The sheet was also changed daily. The wifi connection was good. However, I can not say the same about the females that worked the...

It's classy, cosy with very beautiful decor. We always feel that we come back to our family. The owner and staff members are fun, courteous and intelligent. Exceptionally good full breakfast. Superb service. Marble bathrooms; bathtubs with jets are must after long days on your feet. Walking distance to Basilica di San Pietro, very close to gorgeous Piazza del Poppolo,...

Lovely small 4 star hotel in quiet neighborhood. English speaking staff, wonderful breakfasts, close to metro, and within easy walking distance to many of the major sites in Rome. Stayed there 3 nights after bike tour of Tuscany. Very relaxing. Beautiful wood paneling throughout. Small garden area in back if you want to read or relax outside. Otherwise there is...

Great hotel very clean and breakfast very good, the owner introduced himself, and said whatever we want we only have to ask with I thought was excellent. Linen changed every day. The hotel is in walking distance to the Vatican, and just up the street is the River Tiber.

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
