Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.

The hotel itself is stunning and definately one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The main problem I found was that it was very hard to get a good nights sleep, the walls are very thin so you can hear into the rooms next to yours even when people are speaking at a normal volume and if you are staying on the side of the hotel next to the road it is very loud since the road is very busy and there are trams. The other downside is that everything is very expensive, cocktails cost €18 and the buffet breakfast cost us over €50 for just the two of us. The hotel is beautiful but considering the price it costs to stay there you think that food and drink while you’re there would be less pricey.

We arrived early from an overnight flight, and the room was not ready. There was also a misunderstanding regarding the room rate. On top of that, our daughter had a migraine, so it was not a good start. However, the hotel manager, Mr. Mussinelli took personal charge and turned everything into an opportunity to make us truly welcome. He arranged for a room so that our daughter could rest; arranged for complimentary tea; settled the rate in our favor; and treated us to a free breakfast. His response exceeded our expectations. This was in addition to the fact that the hotel is magnificent, situated on a beautiful park, and the service is exquisite. We recommend the hotel wholeheartedly.

We recently stayed here and I must say the service was outstanding. When checking in, we ask for a quieter room, and I imagine because the hotel wasn't full, they upgraded us into a beautiful and spacious room. The entire staff was excellent. There wasn't anything they wouldn't try to do. We truly enjoyed the use of the spa facilities as the steam room and hot tub were a welcome treat. (No purchase treatments necessary to use the facilities.) The pool area is actually more beautiful than the pictures show. On the first day, we were so tired we basically laid by the pool all day and walked a few steps into the garden for dinner (which was open the entire time not just at 8 p.m. like most places). The food was outstanding. We also ate at their Michelin restaurant which was exceptional. They had several people waiting on us and the dishes were like pieces of art and tasted even better. The chef sent over several extra dishes as appetizers and desserts. I could not say enough about this hotel especially since it's a reprieve from the busy city. We spent several afternoons with a drink and appetizers poolside (octopus shown below). It felt tranquil, as though we were in our own little island. Although the walk to the city is at least 15 minutes if not a half hour, depending on which way you walk through the park, we wouldn't have traded this for a local city hotel. The park itself is lovely, quiet and remote. Right next to us was Wunderbar which we stopped in for apertivo one evening. A fabulous trendy and fun little place (only open during summer). We also ate breakfast at Caffe delle Arti which was 5 minutes away before walking through the park. They had great little focaccia sandwiches. All of it seemed magical and so much better then the busyness of Rome. Yes you may feel that some of it seems old, but that is the charm of Europe. Most of this hotel is absolutely beautiful with marble everywhere. A true delight! Don't pass up it up!

Boutique hotel with attentive staff. Quiet, calm oasis (with pool amongst trees). An excellent place to flop down in, have a restorative drink after seeing the sights in the heat. Concierge made consistently good restaurant recommendations. Rooms at the front noisy with the trams that pass.

I like this hotel for its central location, yet quiet and with a nice garden on the inner court (with swimming pool). The rooms (ask for inner court view) are nicely appointed and comfortable (419). The staff friendly and competent.
