My family and I visited Rome in 2019 from the U.S. and stayed at this hotel. We loved everything about it. The facilities are lovely and the service is top-notch! The staff was not just helpful - they went out of the way to make us feel like valued guests. My nine-year old daughter describes this hotel as "spectacular." We were so happy to see that it will be open for business again soon as Italy recovers from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and hope this treasure will be around for years to come, since we plan to visit Italy again one day. Grazie Aldrovandi, for helping make our vacation last year a great and memorable one!

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. It is in a great location, close to city centre that you can easily walk but away from the hustle and bustle. Right next to park so a lot of green and if you like to go for a run in the morning it is the perfect place. Breakfast is great, staff super efficient and nice. Was a bit disappointed with the quality of the dinner though. Room nice (just a bit on the warm side) with all that you require; I definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome and will surely return. The people are super friendly and very helpful - which is very important.

What's really cool with that place is hotel team. All of them were doing their best, really warm welcome, thanx for that! BUT... Hotel requires full renovation. It so happened that during 2 nights stay we changed 3 rooms (photos attached are according to our last one). In the first room we couldn't sleep all night because of tram plying every 10 minutes even at night; in second one had a pungent smell of chlorine. In third one there was a monotonous ventilation noise like all the night (like you are sleeping in airplane). All rooms were in sad condition, furniture and bathroom equipment was done up indeed... And overall there is no sound insulation. I do not used to hear the neighbors voices( Good news: towels, linens and bathrobes were good.

Long weekend for 6 ladies. We wanted somewhere classy, beautiful to look at and perfect for us. This definitely fitted the bill. From the moment we arrive at the hotel we were treated so well, the staff at reception couldn't do enough to help. The weather was rubbish, very wet but this didn't put us off. We had planned a tour for the day we arrived on Segways but really wet, so the Concierge phoned and rebooked for us, before we had even hot in our rooms so we didn't have to worry about it. They also recommended fabulous restaurants, not disappointed. The rooms lovely, they are elegant to match the hotel not uber modern, good bed, traditional bathroom. Reviews have commented on noise, yes trams go up and down but unless the windows are open we didn't really notice that much, and we all live in houses where there is no traffic so would notice. Breakfast lovely. Bar staff very attentive as well. We used the courtesy bus to full advantage. Our departure again sorted by reception staff. Faultless. Would definitely go back, stay longer and in warmer dry weather.

We booked this hotel because we thought being near the zoo and the Borghese park would be fun with my two small kids - age 2 and 5. The hotel is elegant, definitely feels very old world, no modern amenities in the rooms, but it is charming. I booked a suite and our first room was terrible - first floor and there is a cable car that operates outside the building. It sounded like we were literally sleeping on top of a subway station. Absolutely awful. They were kind enough to move our room the following day and the second room was lovely. However, my parents were also experiencing the same sound issue. They also moved their room into an interior facing room and the new room was terrible - worst hotel bathroom I've seen. They didn't offer to show my parents the room before relocating. We were in Rome to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday and her room had a handicapped bathroom - no real shower, just a hand-held and a bathroom that was designed to get water everywhere. My father is 6'3''. You can imagine his displeasure. The people at the front desk were for the most part unhelpful. Furthermore, the walk from this hotel into Rome central is long and hilly. The walk to the shuttle is almost not worth it. Ultimately, the breakfast here was wonderful and some of the employees were lovely but we would not stay again. Stick with Hotel de Russie or Portrait suites - better location and service.

I liked my stay here. its a nice old hotel. friendly staff. amazing pool / garden area. nice restaurant. my only real down side is: THE INTERNET is too slow. at times (I guess when too many guest were loged in) it went down entirely. I think at this range ... a hotel mus be able to provide a solid and fast internet connection. this shoudl be changed and fixed urgently I think. at least for me it is a clear reason NOT to come back. I need internet for my work. also... the alternative of using your phone internet is also not an option cause it is situatied in a weak cell phone reception area. I really hope the manager fixes this and add bandwith to his internet or add a professional internet acces, that might even cost money... no matter how but it needs to be fixed and offer solid internet broadband to those who need it for their work. I think they tell you that its best bandwith in the lobby... but seriously this is not an option for a hotel of this level. again... if you dont need internet, this is a great hotel. if you need internet to be fast and reliable for your work or to use netflix... I can not recommend this place.

This is a gem of a "boutique" hotel. We recently stayed for 4 nights and were delighted. As members of the Leaders Club, we were upgraded to a lovely suite but had we had a standard room the services would have been the same. The staff is so professional and competent without fawning; everything worked perfectly. Public and private areas were spotless, food very good, and the breakfast buffet was perfect. The beautiful pool in the courtyard was a welcome oasis after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is next to the Borghese Gardens; we appreciated the location away from the crowds. There is a Mercedes minivan which takes one to the Spanish Steps area in 10/15 minutes, or it's a very pleasant walk through the park.

Hotel is set directly across from Borghese gardens. Nice quiet hotel, beautiful pool area. The hotel has a shuttle service to take you closer to the center of Rome which we found very useful. Restaurant and pool staff are wonderful. The restaurants are very pretty and food is terrific. My only suggestion is one or two of the front desk staff could be a lot friendlier.

I have stayed in many hotels in Rome. The Aldrovandi is located in a wonderful part of Rome. Right in the park, close to walking to the hustle of Rome. The rooms are utterly charming. My only feedback is the condition of the carpets in the hall and in the breakfast area. They are worn and need replacement. This would give this gem of a hotel more sparkle.
