Pros: perfect location, very clean, friendly staff. Cons: most staff don't speak English so it's hard to communicate, they do not take credit cards (we were told the system didn't work at the moment but from reading other comments it's obviously a lie and they only take cash), room right next to the reception was noisy early in the mornings.... Everything was great, friendly staff, good location and rooms. The beds were much more comfy than expected for the price. The only thing was the wifi wasn't too great but it may have just been my phone.

The room was super cheap and the service was good for the price. The position is perfect and Monti is one of the nicest places in Rome. If it's your first time in Rome, Monti is definitely a good place to stay in.

We spent 3 nights here last summer, the place is a bit hard to find and you have to wait to be buzzed into the building. It felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel, as there are only 7 rooms. The building itself dates back to the 19th century, and the elevator seemed like it did too, so I... More

I can never forget the first moment when my wife and I have entered the hotel, as we had to ring a bell at the ground floor then someone opened the gate to a very old building with an outdated lift, without knowing what to expect after that, the guy at the reception had a broken leg, but despite that... It was a simple, clean, nicely spacious place to stay for a 5 day visit. By using google maps and reading reviews, we found the main door okay (phoned before we got there to confirm our arrival time, and the buzzer labelled 'I Dormienti' was answered seconds after ringing it). When we got there, the man at reception didn't talk... More

We had a great stay at I Dormienti. The rooms are simple but nice and very tidy. The staff is really nice and helpful. The hotel is located in a nice street, near to a metro station and super central.

Please, please use trip advisor and look through all the reviews. Unfortunately due to a sudden change in our plans during our trip to Italy we had to book this place last min and didn't read through any reviews. This place classes itself as a hotel on booking.com, this is far from the truth, it is a hostel at best.... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt.
