I would definitely recommend this accommodation to couples travelling to Rome. The hotel is very close to the colosseum and in a lovely area, the staff are very friendly/ helpful and the hotel is very clean and funky ;). All round a great stay :)

The hotel is a great value for the money. It was clean and spacious. They were in the middle of a renovation so the room was a bit bare. Easy walking to the Colleseum and many other sites. Plenty of food options very close by. Glendarose at the front desk was excellent! She was very helpful and accommodating; a pleasure to meet.

First the good: Our room, although small, was clean and adequate. We had access to a small, shared fridge next door. The bar around the corner, which supplied our breakfast every morning, was wonderful! It was something to look forward to in the mornings. Also, the hotel is in a great location. It's close to the Colosseum and in a quiet area. I can't imagine staying in the louder, more congested areas we walked through. What ruined our experience was the complete lack of communication and customer service during our stay. We had alerted the hotel that we would be arriving in the evening, by replying to an email asking us to alert them if we would arrive in the evening. You would think someone would have received that email, but I had not gotten confirmation. So, I sent another to that same address and another to a different address. We also requested car service from the airport. I had no idea if anyone would be waiting for us when we arrived. Apparently someone did come to pick us up from the airport, but left without us, because it took over 2 hours to get through customs. So, after travelling 34 hours with a young child, we finally arrived to a locked and dark hotel. We banged on the doors and called the hotel, but no one answered. I was locked out, in the middle of the night with a child, in a new city. My husband, back home, was able to contact them via email, and we were eventually let in (after a frantic hour). Throughout our stay, we had to repeatedly check the front desk, as there was rarely anyone there. We had questions, on occasion, but had no one to ask most of time- during regular business hours. We were able to speak to a man once (very friendly), who helped us with our keys, and a woman (not friendly at all) who answered a couple of questions. I think this hotel would be fine for a young adult who doesn't anticipate needing any assistance at all. It is not someplace I would stay again though.

Some years ago we visited the Retrome Barcelona and had a really nice stay there. Consequently, we booked a Retrome room for our Rome trip as well. The apartment we booked is situated on the ground floor and has a kitchen, a big room with two separated double beds, a bathroom and a little patio. Sadly, we had to realize that the apartment we booked urgently needs to be renovated. The kitchen was not properly attached to the wall, as well as the table there. The freezing compartment in the fridge was full with frozen soft drink remains. We weren’t able to use the kitchen at all. The bathroom also needs to be renovated, the joints between the tiles were often dark and the room was overall dirty, e.g. the were old toothpaste remains in the toothbrush holder. The cleaning staff gave us need towels every day and made our beds, but underneath those there was much dust and dirt. Also the patio was not well-kept at all, as can be seen on the photo attached to this review. Therefore, we didn’t want to spend any time at all there, although we chose this room (amongst other things) because of the outdoor area. Furthermore, there was another entrance to the patio from the houses hallway which was open for some hours a day, not allowing any privacy there. All in all, we didn’t feel comfortable at all and did expect much more for the money we paid. The only advantage of this hotel was the good situation near the colosseum. But still we do not recommend this apartment at all.

The room was nice and clean, and the girl that waited for us was very pleasant and detailed about everything. You have a separate kitchen that is available to everyone on the floor (a few rooms). The location is a 5-minute walk to the Colosseum. Also, there is an option for booking transport to the airport.
