Spent a very relaxing and enjoyable five nights in this 4 star hotel to the left of the river Tiber. Great location-easy walking distance from the centre. Great staff and lots of them. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Only slight quibble is that the shower could have been slightly easier to operate. Also, and perhaps more importantly, the door to the safe was quite difficult to open We had to use a knife or a spoon to open it once we had tapped in our code. Hence a 4 for the room and not a 5. However, the staff are all very friendly and helpful-in more than one language, Good chice of breakfast items. I particularly liked the cooked sausages and the fruit salad. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return there one day. Great experience all round. Thank you to everyone at the Hotel dei Mellini.…
Hotel was in a walking distance from the colosseum and Vatican which was great. The room was you’re standard hotel room however, breakfast buffet was excellent. Pleasantly surprised. The reason I’m giving it 5 * is due to the staff. From the front desk (Sylvia) to the b-fast staff were superb. We asked Sylvia upon check in if she knew where we can buy a car seat for our son….her response was, I will bring one for you tomorrow. She indeed had it washed and gave it to us for free so we didn’t have to go all over Rome looking for a car seat. Sylvia went above and beyond. It was a great start to our first day in Rome.
My husband and I started and ended a two week-tour of Italy at Hotel Dei Mellini. We found the staff to be very helpful and attentive, the rooms clean and quiet and the location very centralized. I am writing, in the event that management reads this review, to recommend that they consider adding additional electrical outlets in the rooms. Neither of our bedside areas had a spot to charge our electronics and there were limited outlets in the room and bathroom.
Excellent hotel, it offers great value for your money. Good location, helpful staff. I would stay here again. Close to all major attractions. Small roof top terrace for a quiet evening night cap. Includes a basic breakfast as well in a nice updated room. Beds are comfortable and the hotel is very clean.
The hotel is located within walking distance of all sites one wants to see but the hotel is located in a quiet street which we appreciated as our room was lovely and quiet. Has everything you need for a City break. We stayed 5 nights and our room and bathroom were roomy and the air con kept us lovely and cool when we needed a rest from the July heat. We found all the staff friendly and eager to help. We had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to our friends. It was excellent value for money.
I absolutely have nothing but great things to say about Hotel Dei Mellini, My husband and I are eternally grateful for the love and courteous service we were pre-vied too on our stay this July❣️The were awesome and extremely helpful very attentive to any questions we proposed. The entire Staff was incredible, every morning was a dream come true at the beautiful garden and pool area where we enjoyed their delicious complimentary breakfast ❣️Whenever I visit Rome I’ll definitely stay at Hotel Dei Mellini again💕💕
Situated between the historic centre of Rome and the Vatican this is an ideal place to stay - 15 minute walk to Piazza Navona. Excellent front desk staff, nice little bar for a late night drink, excellent breakfast and comfortable large room with good air conditioning.
We stayed her for 5 nights during the summer. While the location is good, the service and amenities are lacking. The bed was extremely hard and the pillows were as flat as pancakes. The pullout couch bed for our daughter was super thin and non supportive. The workout facilities were extremely hot and cramped. Breakfast was included, yet the food itself was some of the worst I have seen in Europe. Add on to this that the service throughout most of our staying was lacking. They seemed put out by any request we made, and we only made a few. In general, I would not recommend this location as I am sure that there are better properties as a similar price point.
We spent 8 nights in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff were friendly, courteous, and took good care of us throughout our stay, even making excellent restaurant recommendations and reservations for us. The hotel is close to the river and to so many good, authentically Roman restaurants in the Prati area such as Casa Prati, la Trattoria della Barchetta, la Pupina, and la Piccola Urpinia, which is right next door to the hotel---perfect for the newly-arrived traveler. The staff is multilingual, the bar well-stocked, and the breakfast buffet is sumptuous. There's a rooftop balcony with a good view as well. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Enjoy!
We stayed at the Mellini for three days in early June. It is a very good base to see Rome with friendly, helpful staff and clean, airy rooms. The ground floor bar is an excellent place to enjoy a drink and run by the ebullient bar manager Larissa. She is always welcoming with a kind - and usually amusing word. A true 'Star at the Bar' she sets the hotel apart with her spontaneous personality.
