Fantastic hotel in the middle of the city walk distance to many places in the city. Room are very clean . The only thing the shower was uncomfortable to take a show other that everything was perfect . Staff was very very friendly . Good service good buffet breakfast .

Check-in was a little choppy, & the room was actually down the block, but in a very nice, remodeled space that worked out beautifully. We could walk almost anywhere from there, there was a balcony overlooking the street, & the breakfast was above average.

We changed hotels after one night at another which was horrible . Hotel Mascagni came thru and saved our Rome vacation . Room was very nice with comfortable accommodations . The staff was the best from check in to check out . Very professional and willing to assist in any detail . The hotel is within minutes of Termini train... More

We recently stayed in this hotel with our children. It was very nice to have two twin beds for our kids (11 son & 19 daughter). The "king" bed was 2 twin beds pushed together, but that didn't bother us too badly. There was 1 outlet we could find in the room & had to use one of the plugs... More

Location was fantastic - close, but yet seemed not as crowded as a couple of blocks away. Excellent room - one of the most spacious we've ever had in Europe. Very quiet room. Large bathroom with great shower. Excellent breakfast - good variety, fresh, and breakfast room was spacious with very attentive service. Would definitely stay there again.

I want to be as transparent as possible in my review of my experience here at the Hotel Mascagni. The hotel was a disappointment and I cannot recommend to others nor expect to return here myself. I understand there are differences in the experience and expectations when comparing an American to European hotel room. Having stayed in Rome before as... More

Dear Guest, thank you for your review. I always take into high consideration the comments of our clients. I am really glad to know that you appreciated our location and, most important , our Staff and service. However, some points need to be well explained to other travelers: 1. Tripadvisor rating: it seems you don’t agree with the opinion of... More

We were a group of 5 staying here in June 2016. My twin 13 year old daughters had a room that adjoined my husband and my room. Small rooms but sufficient for our needs. My mother in law had her own room one flight down from us. Breakfast was delicious with many options. Staff was helpful in guiding us to... More

Maybe we just had a bad room, but I'm not sure why this hotel has so many glowing reviews. The room we had was just a bit tired. The bedding was not attractive (red corduroy bedspread). The chest in the closet was missing a handle and was full of someone else's clothes. They told us they needed to wash the... More

We stayed here during our honeymoon and the entire staff was friendly, courteous, and always willing to tell us about some great thing to see in the city. Rooms were clean, and the location makes it getting to and from the sights so simple. Would highly recommend.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
