Very convenient location, friendly staff and very clean rooms. Very good breakfast also although they can just add toast machines :). Highly recommend for families also since everything is easily accessible.

I found the Mascagni Hotel 20 years ago and after my 8th visit it never lets you down. Great location excellent rooms and value for money. Staff as always are very helpful and the breakfast is the best in Rome. As Arnie would say 'I'll be back'

We had a really lovely stay! The location is amazing and within walking distance to most sights. The staff were polite, friendly and really helpful. Wonderful people all around! Breakfast was lovely, a real treat and the service was excellent! This hotel has character and it has an old European charm to it. We loved it even if it is...

This hotel is conveniently located close to the Termini train station and walking distance from many sites in Rome. For example we were able to walk to the Coliseum in 15mins. The hotel itself is split across 2 buildings, approximately 20metres apart from each other. The main building has a reception, small lobby and bar with rooms split over 5...

Our family of four with kids ages 10 and 12 stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in June. We had two rooms, on the same floor, across the hall from one another. Both of the rooms were snug, but comfortable. Everyone slept well, and the hotel is peaceful. Our rate included the breakfast buffet (which had average food, but...

Our welcome was a complimentary breakfast upon arrival since the room was not ready:the Staff was amazing and we were told to wait half hour. At 11 a.m. we were sleeping in our F.ly room and our day started early afternoon visiting the Foro area. The location was perfect close also to the shopping area of the Spanish Steps. If...

When I stay in Rome (which is frequent in some years) I like to stay near the Termini station, because everything in Central Rome is walking distance, but getting to your train in time is often crucial. So I usually stay at a lower cost hotel. I just found the Hotel Mascagni, which is 5 minutes' walk from Termini, about...

A pleasant, spacious room in a convenient location. However, I downgrade the hotel because we had to walk from another building to the lobby and breakfast room, and because the front desk set us up to be overcharged by a hotel-arranged gypsy cab to the airport. What we like: The room was modern and spacious. The window had a nice...

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your detailed feedback about your recent stay. We are glad to know that you appreciated our new rooms, recently opened, the service, the Staff and the Breakfast. As you all know traveling with young kids can make your trip more of a chore that an enjoyment, nevertheless, the hotel was something that we did not have to struggle with while in Rome. The staff was very kind, especially Roberta, and Gabriel. The rest of the staff was also very courteous but I just cant remember their names....

I stayed here while in Rome after a trip with a friend and before meeting other friends in Barcelona. I was alone and had a room for 2 nights in the hotel's "Dependance" which is inside an annex building only 20 meters away from the hotel itself. When I checked in a was warmly greeted by Luciano, who never seemed...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
