Very modern hotel that is conscientious about catering to its clients. The room was very nice and the daily breakfast was good. Most of the staff was quite friendly and helpful. For example, they let us get our breakfast early so we could make it for an early day trip one morning. The location is a little far from some... More

A quick walking distance to all of room from this great hotel. Luciano and staff were very helpful in getting us rooms as soon as we landed, and then putting us into the family room so we could all be together. The breakfast in the morning is very good, though a little change during the week would be nice. Would... More

Great value, clean, convenient location, spacious rooms. We had an early flight and couldn't eat breakfast there, so they provided us with continental breakfast to go. We would definitely stay there again.

We (a family of 4, consisting of 2 adults and 2 children) stayed at this hotel pre- and post-cruise. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel. The staff is exemplary -- super friendly and helpful. Roberta at the front desk was invaluable. The hotel is centrally located, a mere 3-minutes walk to Metro Repubblica. Everything is well appointed and... More

The hotel is in a great location - many attractions are a walk or short taxi ride. The staff is very friendly and helped us make a reservation for the colosseum tour and also suggested a great restaurant for lunch the first day. The staff was really the big plus in this hotel. Breakfast was very good with a nice... More

This small hotel has a great location and super staff. Nice breakfast with great service - great tips from the staff at breakfast about places to see! The family (quad) room was small but clean and we made it work well. Thanks for a great stay in Rome.

We found the staff at the Hotel Mascogni to be very helpful. We had no luggage our first night there and they lent us an adapter so we could charge our phones. The front desk clerk recommended a fantastic restaurant and called to let them know we were coming. The room was not huge, but is was clean and the... More

We had to change hotels last minute, and were very lucky to find the Hotel Mascagni. They has just opened up some new rooms, which were excellent. The beds were the best we experienced in our 12 day 4 city European trip. The showers were wonderful. The views from our room was good. We had a small balcony from our... More

This hotel 10 min walk from the Termini Station. The staff was so accommodating and nice. We chose this hotel because we could get connecting rooms, which is hard to do in Europe. W/ 3 boys, ages 12, 10, and 7, we didn't want them down the hall or on another floor. Pros: Nice breakfast w/ scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit,... More

Such a lovely hotel in an excellent location. Service was personalized, professional and warm. Marco in the breakfast room was especially lovely. He always had a little something extra for us to try. Staff were terrific in terms of helping us find our way around. I never felt hurried. This is a hotel that knows how to take care of... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
