As you all know traveling with young kids can make your trip more of a chore that an enjoyment, nevertheless, the hotel was something that we did not have to struggle with while in Rome. The staff was very kind, especially Roberta, and Gabriel. The rest of the staff was also very courteous but I just cant remember their names....

I stayed here while in Rome after a trip with a friend and before meeting other friends in Barcelona. I was alone and had a room for 2 nights in the hotel's "Dependance" which is inside an annex building only 20 meters away from the hotel itself. When I checked in a was warmly greeted by Luciano, who never seemed...

We booked a stay at the Hotel Mascagni through our travel agent. Short story: we would never stay there again and our travel agent will never refer clients there either. I will say that it is well located and the rooms are clean. End of positive feedback. Long version: Arrived Saturday morning. Before departure I e-mailed the hotel to inquire...

Nice hotel reasonably priced. Booked through a travel agency in NYC but hotel had no reservation. They gave us a great room, took bags to room then called and told us we had to move rooms the next day. I called my travel agent then they called the hotel...problem solved. Great location.,

Stayed here for 2 nights, as I was touring Italy for 10days. From entering and leaving the staff kept up high expectations. On arrival we checked in efficiently and had our bags carried to the room for us, the room was just perfect size and had everything we needed. The location is around 5 minutes walk from the bus and...

This is a great hotel. It is in a great location and they have great service. We stayed in the upgraded suite section of the hotel and it was very nice. The hotel is very secure and clean, as well. The room we stayed in was very modern and had a balcony. I would totally recommend this hotel!

The room was brand new and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large and modern with a gorgeous design. The location was very convenient with easy access to termini station, Metro (easy to get to Vatican and Spanish steps) and a 15 minute walk to Ancient Rome area. The stand was excellent the the General Manager...

Spent three nights in the hotel. Very good location if you are up for a bit of walking. Somewhat close to a few of the sites, but we like walking so we even walked across the Tiber a few times. Beds are a little hard, but not too bad. Again, we found two twins with a bridge to join them....

By comparison to Florence, Rome is a very busy, noisy city (which one would expect for a city of its size). However, Hotel Mascagni managed to honour our request for 2 twin beds in a quiet room despite the pace of the city. The wallpaper on the room walls deadened any possible city sounds like ambulance/police sirens. The front desk...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
