Le Méridien Visconti Rome comes highly recommended for its prime location, allowing guests easy access to explore the city while enjoying a peaceful, less crowded environment. The hotel's amenities, including the rooftop bar, have won over guests, though some feel the gym falls short and the breakfast is just average.
The property's trendy atmosphere and modern, clean interiors are consistently praised, as is the friendly service staff who are always ready to assist. While the rooms are noted to be on the smaller side, they are clean and comfortable, contributing to the hotel's reputation for good value.

Detailed Reviews
The pros of this hotel are the location is quiet and less chaotic than the historical center hotels. You can walk to castello st Angelo. And take a cab to the historical center or Vatican. Concierge is helpful. There are some pricey and trendy restaurants nearby Michelin this and that. Some good non Italian restaurants like Japanese and Chinese restaurants nearby for those who need a break. Rooms are modern a relief from the quirky rooms in older places in the historic center. I had three rooms and one had a very small shower. Ac worked. One of the twin mattresses was sloping down in the center. Need to check them for sag. Also there was only one bathrobe in the room. When I asked for another one guest services said you have a robe in your room! Am I supposed to share? Maybe guest services does not know they give one for two people. For Gold Elite the rooms weren’t ready till 3pm.
Good buffet breakfast. Convenience store carrefour nearby. The card keys tended to deactivate suddenly and had to get replacement. Wifi requires login each time even with enhanced wifi. Also had to reboot my laptop everytime to get the login page. Marriott should simplify the wifi process. A pump handsoap would make things easier than handling the tiny bar soap.
This is a modern hotel if you don’t need to be in the center of the historical district. Just a few quirks.

My husband & I stayed 4 nights at the hotel. We had a fantastic stay - comfortable room, pleasant staff, good breakfast. I would have given the hotel a 5-star rating, but for the experience I had when leaving. I asked the hotel to call a taxi for me to take me to the airport. Taxis advertise a €55 rate to the airport (it's even written onto the outside of the car door). I specifically did not request a hotel private transfer because I'd been told the night before that it would cost something like €80. The desk lady told the bellman (I assume) that I'd like a taxi to the airport. The bellman comes, takes my bag, walks with me outside and tells me that I can take the private transfer car to tbe airport for the same price as a taxi, €55 (he specifically said €55). I agreed, assuming that this car was being made available at market rate for taxis because it was not busy at all (Monday 9am) and the car was just sitting in the parking lot, not being used. We arrived at airport, and the driver tells me that if I want to pay with credit card, the price is €65. If I have cash, I can pay the "discounted" rate of €60. Now, I was planning on paying €60 anyway. because I was going to give a tip. But, this is not what was communicated by hotel personnel, and I was not happy to give up my more limited cash. After exiting the car, I called the hotel and told them what had happened. They were, of course, apologetic. But, I wrote this as a caution to not trust even what the hotel staff are telling you about the price for the private transfer service recommended & provided by the hotel. Not a huge deal, but I was left with a bad taste in the mouth after what had otherwise been a wonderful stay.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a work trip. The hotel is updated in most places but I felt I was in an updated Hampton Inn vs a mid-upscale brand like Le Meridien. The rate was low ($160 Euro) with free breakfast and you get what you pay for. Review below…
Bonvoy Status: D
Rooms: B-
I am Titanium Platinum status and at check in they say “we upgraded you to an executive room”. This was a room on the 6th floor, nothing more nothing less. My coworkers with no status were also on this floor. The room was modern and the bed was comfy, but it’s a tiny room lacking enough USB outlets (none at the desk, only 1 at bedside). The walls are also paper thin and you could hear people talking next door. I had no view. So in essence I received nothing for my status. Shower water pressure was good and shower got hot right away which was a plus. And the room is very clean with good bath products and includes a robe and slippers.
Housekeeping: A
Came every day and did a great job.
Location: B
It’s closer to the Vatican and you can walk 1 to 2 miles to most of the main sites or attractions. But it’s on a side street harder to get taxi’s. Do Uber instead they come quickly and it’s not expensive. The benefit to the side street is that the hotel is quieter with little outside noise.
Breakfast food: C+
Breakfast staff: D
The breakfast is free but it’s the exact same thing every day which gets boring. There is no omelet station. The potatoes were near raw. Nice selection of pastries but I wish they had more or different hot food. The staff however was not that nice. One day we accidentally sat at a table that had a “reserved” sign despite the restaurant being two-thirds empty. The staff practically yelled at us since we had already started eating there and just had an attitude most mornings. If they were so concerned where people sit they should bring us to tables. If it’s “sit anywhere” don’t reserve tables.
If you are looking for a good rate the hotel is fine. It’s clean and in a decent location. It just didn’t wow me for a LM brand.

Dear BostonGirl02118, Thank you for staying at Le Méridien Visconti Rome and for taking the time to share your experience with other travellers via Tripadvisor. We are glad to see that you appreciated the cleanliness of our rooms and the Malin+Goetz bath amenities that are a distinctive element of the Méridien brand. We were surprised to read your comments about the USB outlets, as there are actually two at the bedside, along with two power outlets. Please know that we value the loyalty of our Bonvoy Titanium and Platinum guests and strive to recognize that loyalty with free upgrades to our best available rooms, including standards suites, whenever available. We are disappointed to learn that your experience with our breakfast team members was not the warm and welcoming experience that we aim to deliver and that our guests have come to know and expect. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with our management team as part of our constant efforts to improve on for future stays. We hope there will be an opportunity for us to welcome you back in the future and leave you a better impression next time. Kind regards, Palma D Guest Experience Team

Location is this property’s strongest asset, with the Vatican approximately 20-minutes away by foot and the Colosseum about 40-minutes away by foot as well.
Rooms are very small, even those labeled as Deluxe (in which we stayed). Bathrooms are tiny, and we dealt with sewer gas odors daily. Amenities were never replaced, and maid service couldn’t care less about the Do Not Disturb sign or light. Walls are paper thin…neighbor sneezed, we said “bless you” out loud and he responded with thanks…ridiculous.
Breakfast is adequate although obvious every attempt is made to find the least expensive products. Juice comes from a machine that uses concentrate, and the coffee machine “brews” coffee in a matter of seconds…tastes like the colored water it is.
Rooms above us were undergoing construction, and the workers arrived and started making noise around 06:30 AM…even on Christmas Eve! Management agreed this is unacceptable, but never confirmed they would address it…we woke up at 07:30 AM on the 26th to power tools…ridiculous. To add insult to injury, we were not told of the construction above us when checking in.
There are better options in Rome!

We received a warm welcome from friendly staff when we arrived at the hotel. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the set up meant it didn’t feel too busy. The hotel is located in a quiet district compared to other areas of Rome. The hotel is within walking distance to explore many attractions in the city. There are plenty of restaurants within the surrounding streets of the hotel. Overall, we had an excellent stay at this hotel in the magnificent city of Rome, we would definitely stay here again.
We arrived by taxi from Fiumicino airport, it was a fixed rate of €50. The official taxi rank is clearly signposted at arrivals with white cars with their badge number and prices clearly displayed on the passenger door.

Had a great stay at the Le Meridien Visconti Rome. Forgot to grab pictures, but the rooms were nice. The hotel is in a less-crowded part of town, yet it is walkable to the Vatican, Spanish Steps, and many other popular sites. Large breakfast buffet was included, and the staff made many great dinner recommendations. First round of drinks from the fridge were also complimentary. The best part for us was having two connecting rooms (family suite) for the price of one room. It included a king in one room and 2 twins in another. Rooftop bar was a fun place to relax.
A few minor issues, but nothing major:
*Exterior-facing rooms still had some traffic noises
*Half-door shower with HUGE threshold is a fall hazard
*One of the connecting doors would not latch shut
If you want a Marriott property but don’t want to pay the prices of some of the top hotels, give this one a look.

Excellent stay during our short time in Rome. The hotel does have AC but for Americans, keep in mind, its not American AC. It's cool, but not cold. We came to the hotel early due to our early morning flight and they were very welcoming and helpful. They stored our bags while we walked around Rome and gave suggestions on places to eat and do. The room was small for Americans but it was perfect for our family of three. The only thing to complain about was that check-in is at 3pm and they truly stick to that time. There was no getting a room early. We ended up staying here before and after our cruise and both check-in days we received our room at around 2:45. I realize that they say it's 3pm and they tell you that when you walk in, but most hotels can get into a room around 1 or 2. And when you are tired after a long flight, that hour or 2 could make a big difference. We saw a lot of airline employees so I feel that they stick to the checkin time stricly because they offer day rooms for sleep to airline pilots and staff. Despite that small inconvenience, I would still recommend this hotel. It was perfectly positioned between all the main attractions, the staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were comfortable. The neighborhood is also great as there are a lot of restaurants and gelato shops as well as a few small grocery stores.

Overall, a great experience at this hotel. Knowing that we’d primarily be using our room for sleeping, we didn’t need to be at a 5-star hotel while in Rome. It was centrally located. You could walk to most of the main attractions and if you were too lazy, cabs were readily available.
I’d say the hotel is good value for money. Rooms were large by European standards and featured all of the amenities you needed. My only complaint was around our shower leaking water onto the bathroom floor, which seemed to be a common theme on our trip!
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here. It fit the bill for being a good home base in Rome.

Located in a the beautiful area of Prati, an upmarket neighbourhood of Rome, the hotel is located fairly near the Vatican and not far away from metro stations.
An older perhaps uninspiring building from the outside, inside is beautifully decorated and a large reception area plus friendly team await you. Check in was smooth however bathrooms are located on the floor below which was a slight chore.
Our room was just ok in size, we did have large suitcases taking up quite a bit of space so it was a snug experience! Our room was adjoined to another and our door was not locked which we had to ask for. We could also hear the room next door as they could also probably hear us. The bed was heavenly, pillows too soft for me but overall very comfortable. Plenty of hangers to hang our things with a bit of storage space. The bathroom was huge but the powerful monsoon shower beating down was DIVINE. Fluffy white towels aplenty with a fantastic turn down service. Only one bottle of water was free but you could go to the end of hallway to fill up your bottle at the water station which was handy. You also are allowed to use the mini bar complimentary for one time only, chargeable after the first time.
The roof top bar was very cool, trendy and modern. Lots of places to sit and soak up the atmosphere.
Breakfast was on the lower floor which was a huge room that never filled up fully in our time. Lots of very friendly staff that were fantastic and brightened up a fairly uninspiring room. The buffet was actually really good (loved the poached salmon and giant Nutella dispenser!). Just the prepared fruit was a let down and perhaps not as fresh as I would have liked but overall the offering was very good.
Perhaps more of a business hotel but enjoyable as a tourist nonetheless.

This is a reasonably priced hotel. Rooms are clean and modern. The front desk staff are helpful. They have a good breakfast buffet. The main restaurant serves mediocre food and the manager was rude and accused us of not being hotel guests when we wanted to put lunch on our room. She could not verify our being guests and denaded we pay with cash or credit card. The front desk was 20 steps away and we walked over to straighten the problem out. She could not be bothered. There is a small amount of powdered coffee in room and getting more was a challenge.

Dear, I did not see any. But I assume, there are some in the neighbourhood.
Often, if you go to a lower star Merriott (cheaper), they have!
The location is good though!
You'll need a plug adaptor and Italy is a bit different. MOST electronics are dual voltage like phones and computers. BUT American hair dryers and flat irons etc will need a power converter or they'll need to be dual voltage.
