The hotel is in the best location in Rome. It is a true 5 minute walk fron termini station. Go out the front of termini station take the main road in front of you turn left, go 3 blocks and it is on the right hand side. The room was spacious and decorated very nicely. It was clean, and Paolo... More

A Rome Taxi driver said that Rome is a difficult city to love, but once you know it, it’s impossible not to love. I found that so true in April of 2016 during my first visit. Specifically with the Hotel Lirico. My first impression of the Hotel was that it was a typical European tourist hotel. First time American tourists... More

Pros - Location is near the main train station and other metros. Main attractions are within 15 minutes walking distance. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included (very simple Italian breakfast, not great) Cons - Tiny room, could barely open one suitcase at a time. The room does not look at big as it does in any... More

Dear Customer, First of all thank you for taking your time to write your recenzione with positive points such as breakfast or the location of our hotel. In any case we have to clarify a few things: The room size varies from the type of room booked, and certainly the standard is the smallest, but it is the tourism office... More

Good location within walking distance of many downtown attractions. We stayed a total of 3 nights on two different occasions within a 2 week period and had two separate rooms. Both were clean. Everything is a bit small in this B&B including the bathrooms and the elevator which is only large enough for 2 people with luggage, but not a... More

Dear customer Thank you for being our guest on your recent stay in Rome. In reference to your negative notes we must clarify and correct what you said: 1) The tourist tax is not a payment made to the Hotel, but it is a tax that we collect on behalf of the City of Rome, so we ask the payment... We stayed here with our two teenage daughters in a room that slept four. We each had a twin bed but two of the beds were pushed together to look like a master bed so my husband and I slept right next to each other. The room was very clean and the bathroom was pretty large with a great shower.... More

Great location, close to the termini station, bus stops, tourist bus, underground, opera house, museums, bars and lots of lovely restaurants/trattorias. Also within walking distance of all Rome attractions except the Vatican, to which public transport is nearby. I would advise walking to everything else from here as you see so much along the way. The hotel is small and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
