Me with my family visited Rome from Feb/19 to Feb/22 & stayed at Lirico. The hotel is near to Central Railway Station. It is situated in an old Building. Main problem we face to check in carrying of luggage to reception. We have to carry & lift it by ourself at 2nd floor. Where no lift is available. But the... More

I stayed for a couple of nights at Hotel Lirico and I highly recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always with a smile on their face. The location is ideal as it is less than a 5 minute walk to Termini train station and 15 to 20 minutes walk to the major attractions, and a 25... More

Well I'm sitting at the airport waiting to go home after what I can truly say was a brilliant time in Rome staying in a brilliant little hotel call the lirico. I've decided to split my review into various sections. Hotel exterior and reception We were greeted by the friendly staff who explained where everything was and the breakfast times... More

My wife booked this hotel for both of us on our recent stay in Rome. Like other reviewers had mentioned, there is a flight of stairs in the entrance. We arrived in the morning and was given the option to wait for the next hotel staff worker to be available (most of them were working in the kitchen preparing breakfast... More

Just back from long weekend in Rome. Cannot fault hotel. Were upgraded to triple room overlooking opera house.Staff very efficient and friendly, hotel spotlessly clean. The stairs up to reception are quite steep but all you need to do is ask and there is always someone to assist you. All in all a great city centre hotel for the price.

The hotel was very nice, good location, close to most sights. It was very comfortable and the staff was so kind and helpful!! The breakfast was good as well. The only issue I had was the elevator is very small, but besides that everything was great.

Don't let the stairs at the entrance intimidate you. They take good care of you and there is a lift to get you to your room. Rooms are comfortable, typical cozy European style. Decent breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Good location, can walk to/from train station and to most of sightseeing places.

The Lirico is a small city hotel. The rooms are small with not much room for cases. There is no space of coffee making nor is there a mini fridge but that aside it is very clean, comfortable and most importantly well placed near the sights. Be warned, reception is at the top of a steep flight of stairs with... More

I really liked the hotel. The location is easy walking distance to Termini, but in a MUCH nicer neighborhood, next to the Opera. The breakfast is substantial with meats, cheeses, rolls, eggs, etc. The cappuccinos are hit and miss, literally. Sometimes (if the right person makes it), they're the best in Rome. Other times, they're average at best. In any... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
