My husband and I visited Rome in early June and stayed four nights at the Lirico Hotel. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They were very helpful in educating us on how to find the best deals with travel around the city and admittance to attractions. The breakfast every morning was excellent with a good selection of meats, breads,... More

I stayed here for 3 days. Very clean and modest hotel. The location is great being close to Termini station, but also in a quiet location. The wi-fi in the rooms was great, no problems there. Definitely will consider this hotel again

I really liked this hotel. The room was comfortable and the staff was incredibly nice. A gentleman came to drop keys off to an airbnb and they called me twice to ok him coming up. I was given reccomandations for restaurants and they were spot on. Also the restaurant across the street, La Matriciana is incredible! I would definitely stay... More

This hotel is on a fairly quiet street directly beside the opera theatre. We had no issues with our room whatsoever. Hotel staff is are very friendly and professional. The private limo was at the airport waiting for us as prearranged. The room was cozy and clean. Our bed mattresses were not the greatest, they are visibly caved in but... More

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The hotel is very easy to find from the Termini station - even if you're trying to do it late at night after just flying in! There are steps into the hotel but once you're in there is a lift. We were greeted by a very cheerful chap who checked us in... More

A very friendly and welcoming hotel in the centre of Rome. 5 minutes walk from Termini station. The rooms are clean and spacious, air conditioning in all rooms is a necessity after walking round the city. Traditional breakfast sets you up for the day. WiFi included.

No frills hotel, our room, a triple was very small but bathroom looked new, shiny and clean. We didn't spend much time at the hotel as we were busy sightseeing anyway! Breakfast was a really good, pleasant surroundings. We passed a few other hotels with probably better facilities but Lirico wins on location. Walking distance to the main sights but... More

A Rome Taxi driver said that Rome is a difficult city to love, but once you know it, it’s impossible not to love. I found that so true in April of 2016 during my first visit. Specifically with the Hotel Lirico. My first impression of the Hotel was that it was a typical European tourist hotel. First time American tourists... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
