We got the train from the Airport and walked to the hotel in less than 10 mins. The location was perfect for us. We walked everywhere and there are some great cafes and bars around. We were on the 3rd floor and whilst it was small it was clean and the bed was comfy. We asked for another pillow and it arrived within 5 minutes. Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. If we're ever back in Rome, I would definitely stay here again!
Where to start? The room was dusty and dirty, the flusher was broken and the bathtub was clogged. The staff responded rather lightheartedly when we asked them to review and resolve the problems. We even got attitude from one of the members of staff who eventually came to check the problems. The reception guy (an elderly man) was also very arrogant. Someone must remind him that he is not a surgeon or a rocket scientist; he is a groom in a hotel. A chimpanzee can do his job with better results, actually. Overall, a dreadful experience. There are better and cheaper places to stay elsewhere.
We arrived an hour before check in opened and waited in lounge. Around 20 mins. beyond check in time opening we were allocated room 502 on top floor. Quickly realised this room was below standard- dirty, dusty, only 1 intermittent bar of wi-fi, and only 1 pillow each. Reported back to reception and requested a change. Received stock answer of ‘ no manager able to authorise change of room until tomorrow.‘ Staff arrived with extra pillows within half hour but no attempt to clean room. Fortunately bed was ok. Got in touch with our travel agent, who in turn contacted hotel but they received same response.Hotel staff followed up with a telephone call to our room saying if we came to reception in morning room would be changed and we could have a 5 euro breakfast each at their expense. After breakfast, next morning having been told to come back around 10.30am we were further advised no room would be available until after 3.00 pm. We were now roomless having paid for a 4 night stay! About 5.00pm the hotel moved us to a better room on 3rd floor - much better thankfully. The original room was dusty, with dirty carpet and the bathroom boasted previous guests hair on side of bath and toilet paper fragments around bidet... Yuch! I will try and post pics here. Hotel is in a great position, and there is no reason for such an experience to happen apart from bad management, I would suggest. Surely though , the mark of a good hotel is how they deal with mistakes, and it must be accepted that mistakes will sometimes happen. 2 x 5 Euro breakfasts do not compensate for loss of a room for a considerable proportion of a 4 night stay. Still enjoyed Rome as much as we could though.…
This pleasant hotel is within walking distance from the main rail terminal. The staff were courteous and attentive. Our room had a warm Art Deco feel and was spacious with plenty of storage space and air con. The windows had to remain shut to minimise significant outside noise. Although the bathroom was well presented and clean the toiletries were minimal, only two plastic wrapped wafers of soap and one mini bottle of shampoo. The shower was located inside the bathtub (inappropriate in modern 21st century 4 star accomodation) There was a handheld shower head installed onto a broken wall attachment. This was difficult to use without wetting the floor. Breakfast was basic and offered as an €8 extra. Coffee and tea were self serve
My girlfriend and I just stayed here for two nights and we were actually a little concerned after reading some of the reviews however.. this is a great hotel. The staff were polite and friendly upon checkin. Our room was on the Fifth floor and it was pretty spacious with a comfortable double bed. The location was perfect to see all the best parts of Rome. We were very pleasantly surprised. I would certainly stay here again.
