The Hotel Forum is as you would expect, right next to the Forum/Palantine. A five minute walk to the Colosseum, the same to the Victor Emanuel monument. The rest of Rome is at your convenience, St Peter’s basilica and the Vatican is a decent walk away, but easy via Romes excellent metro, which is right round the corner. The hotel I would describe as faded grandeur, I don’t mean this in a negative way. The rooms are very comfortable, the service is excellent, the restaurant is fabulous with one of the best views in Rome. The American Bar, directly above the restaurant gives THE best view from a hotel in Rome. All this of course comes at a cost, but you are literally in the centre of Rome, so just enjoy a drink in the bar. If you are going to buy tickets to visit the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine, please be aware that you will need to take a phot form of I’d with you. Please also be aware that although the ticket for all three of these sites, can be bought as one, and last for 24 hours, you MUST visit the Forum and Palatine on the same day. So, be warned.

We stayed here 4 nights end of October 2023. Our room was a decent size "new style" room with a comfortable queen size bed, overlooking the inner courtyard. The location is excellent for visiting all major tourist sites and there are some great taverna style restaurants just round the corner. Staff at the hotel were friendly, the room was very clean and the breakfast team were excellent. The view from the breakfast terrace will not disappoint. Our room was quiet from road traffic etc, but be aware that if other guests are chatting early or late on the internal patio, you will be able to hear them. We would stay here again.

We have recently returned from a four night stay at the Forum Hotel, what a great choice ! So near to the Forum and Coliseum, a lovely area with great restaurants just a few minutes away. The staff were very attentive, breakfasts were delicious and views from the restaurant and American bar excellent. Would recommend a stay here.

Location is second to none in Rome. Rooftop drinks overpriced but you are paying for the view. Breakfast (also on rooftop) is very good. Front desk and concierge staff was friendly and extremely helpful.

Beautiful, quintessential Rome hotel in the heart of the city. Outside your window you can see the Forum, you can walk to tons of restaurants and shopping. The manager there is wonderful they treat you like family. I do know they’ve redone a lot of the rooms we were staying in an older model room, but still loved it. Rooftop bar is not to be missed!!!!

Friendly staff and potentially charming decor, but very very tired and very very mean. In the bathroom we were treated to a tiny loo roll that was clearly mostly used, but had a sticker popped on to imply it was new. The shower gel bottle attached to the wall was almost empty. Mouldy silicone between the bath and the wall, complemented the cracking all around the tiles. The bedroom was marginally better, apart from what looked like a fresh blood stain on the sheets. Seriously unpleasant. What really capped it off, was a small charge for the mini-bar after we'd left, when we weren't even aware that we had a mini-bar (we only stayed one night, so didn't bother exploring all the cupboards in the room). I guess if you make a practise of adding a small charge to everyone, then it's too small to go through a refund process, and they make a bit of extra cash. Unfortunately it's also downright dishonest, verging on thievery. So unfortunately it's more of a 3* hotel, charging 5* prices, with tired bathrooms, serious issues in their room cleaning process, and dishonesty thrown into the mix. Pretty hard to recommend given all that.

We had a 2 week tour of Italy, divided into 3 areas and 3 hotels. The 1st 2 hotels were absolutely incredible and I left both of them very positive reviews. The Hotel Forum was by far the worst. I can overlook a lot if the staff is nice and trying their best. Every single one of the men behind the check-in desk were the rudest, most unfriendly, completely unhelpful and inept hotel desk clerks that we have ever encountered. The porter who was there when we checked in & most every day that we were there, was very friendly, so nice & very helpful! The same can be said about the bar staff in the rooftop bar. They were friendly, did an excellent job and were very welcoming. On our last night we had a reservation at the hotel restaurant, and their staff were every bit as rude as the men downstairs in charge. The place was completely empty beside one couple & we asked if we could have a table with a nice view and they just said “no.” The waiter didn’t offer to explain the menu, specials, etc.. just came over and said to me “yes”meaning to tell him my order. Without saying anything else he jerked up the menus and left. The food was completely inedible. We tried to eat it, but it was awful. We asked for the check and they didn’t even ask why we hadn’t eaten more than a few bites. I will include pictures of the meal. We left and went to a nearby restaurant that we had been to before and started over with dinner. When we first arrived and went to our room, there was a hairpin on my nightstand & a cracker under the air conditioning wall unit. We had 2 rooms, with our daughter staying in the other one. She left a “Do not disturb” hanger on her door because she left out somethings she didn’t want bothered. They ignored this an went in anyway. We arranged with the front desk to have their shuttle take us to the airport early the day we left. They had no record of it & said it wasn’t their fault, we must have told them the wrong day or his colleague made a mistake. We heard this a lot there, it’s always a colleagues fault. They also told my husband that he needed to let another man check out in front of him because he had a shuttle to get to the airport, so he took priority. The location of this hotel is wonderful & that weighed heavily into why we booked it, but there are many others nearby so I suggest you look into them. We will never stay here again & will probably go back to Hotel de la Ville at the top of the Spanish Steps. They are wonderful there!

We stayed three nights with another couple in September. We absolutely loved this hotel. It’s in a great location, which also means that it affords incredible views of the Forum and the Victor Emmanuel Monument. It’s iconic Rome at its best. We made use of the Hotel Rooftop Restaurant and Bar, which are outstanding. The drinks are expensive and the food is not cheap, but everything is high quality and you cannot beat the views. We were well taken care by Fredrico at the bar and Rino in the dining area. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We looked forward to the incredible breakfast each morning. We have been to Rome multiple times and we cannot think of another hotel that offers such an unforgettable Roman experience.

Lovely hotel with old world charm. We stayed in Rome for 4 days and the hotel was a gem. The location is perfect if you want to walk. All the main attractions are within walking distance, The forum, Palatine hill, Colliseum, Trevi fountain, Captolini, etc. I can keep naming places. The staff are very kind and knowledgeble. The hotel has an old world charm as the furntiture and decor are very much in that style.
