Lovely hotel but when booking said we would have a view of the courtyard. All we saw from our bedroom window was a terracotta roof. Fabulous to have the hard rock cafe right next door and lots of other restaurants. A short walk to the trevi fountain. Also easy access to the metro which was great

Very disappointed. Was provided with this hotel as part of a pre cruise stay. Was told it was five star. Reception and from the street lovely. Concierge great. Room rubbish. Hasn't been decorated for years. Had to ask for it to be cleaned as there were piles of what looked like woodworm dust on the floor. Blind didn't work in... More

This hotel is beautiful, the staff is wonderful and accommodating, and if you can get a front-facing view, then you'll have a lovely shot of a very busy street and other businesses but vibrant Rome, nonetheless. The disadvantage of this hotel is that you don't know which room you're going to get and they are ALL different. We had 4... More

After 15 days in Italy, I wanted to splurge on a five star hotel so I trusted this places five star rating, but there is nothing particularly five star about his place, other than the price. The breakfast was subpar, cold scrambled eggs.... I am not taking warm from being left out, I am talking spit them out of your... More

The location is excellent and I was very impressed by the service, the breakfast were very good however not opening to 7 is a bit of a pain! The rooms are starting to age and it's disappointing that there is only 1 English speaking channel on a lid and small TV, the beds are not very comfortable and mine was... More

This was our second visit and we had a room for three. I can't remember the beds being so hard !! Far to firm for all of us. Disappointed with room service - ordered 3 hot chocolates and they were tepid. When we checked out we advised reception but I don't think they were too interested. Great advice from the... More

A little pricey for what you get but in a big city like rome space and location come at a high price, and this hotel is in a great location. The buffet breakfast is good , they have everything one... We stay at this hotel for 2 nights on a pre-cruise package. The hotel is well situated, close to a metro station and at walking distance from the old center of the city. We spent two nights here. The hotel is on Via Veneto and close to many good restaurants and easy to walk to many attractions. Our room was nice, nothing really special but comfortable space but uncomfortable chairs. The included breakfast was excellent. A good choice.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Five-star luxury for the Ambasciatori Palace in via Vittorio Veneto, an elegant window facing the Eternal City. In an enviable location, the hotel blends the magic of traditional hospitality with contemporary elegance. Known as 'Ambassadors' Palace', it was originally built in 1903 and it has been the location of international affairs between diplomats from the nearby Embassies and a witness to the excitement of the mundane 'Dolce Vita'. The restoration was made according to the original structure of the environment, and repeating and interpreting the existing decorations: the Brazilian granite columns and the intricate wrought-iron balustrade of the grand staircase, the marble floors and the polychromatic mosaic and the pleasant succession of stuccoes, the Venetian chandeliers and skylights. The welcoming and aristocratic atmosphere of the Ambasciatori Palace combines with exclusive services provided and a careful attention to technology and comfort. The 152 rooms are bright, spacious and finely furnished, decorated in soft colors and aristocratic textures. The new Ambassador Rooms are equipped with TouchControl devices to adjust temperature and lighting and MediaHub to connect the HD screen to the TV audio/video devices. Guests can use the Fitness Center, dine at the refined and elegant restaurant 'La Terrazza', renowned for its culinary fame since the 1920's, the Embassy Bar and Bistro corner and complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms and public areas. The privileged position of the Ambasciatori Palace, in the business district, makes the Hotel the ideal location for business trips, meetings , exhibitions , banquets and vernissage. The elegant business center includes several multipurpose rooms of different sizes, some with natural light and overlooking via Veneto. The main hall is housed in the ballroom. The Ambasciatori Palace is the ideal place for an unforgettable stay among the most legendary historical-artistic monuments and the elegant shopping streets of Rome. A few steps from the Metropolitana Train (stop Barberini) allows a pleasant walk to the Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona and the main railway Station Termini. ... more   less
