A luxury five-star hotel nestled in the heart of Rome, Hotel d’Inghilterra exudes old-world charm and timeless elegance. With its captivating history and stunning central location, it’s no wonder that this distinguished hotel continues to be the first choice for discerning guests. The building dates back to the mid-16th century and originally served as guest quarters for the noble Torlonia family, who resided in the Palazzo across the road. As early as the 15th century, the area was renowned for hosting the city's best hotels, attracting visitors from all over the world. A favourite of the international elite, the hotel has welcomed international figures like Ernest Hemingway, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, and Gregory Peck. The hotel is in the heart of Rome, near the famous Spanish Steps and the city’s foremost landmarks. All 84 rooms and suites have a unique style and personality. A perfect blend of period charm and contemporary character. With its chic outdoor space on Via Borgognona, Café Romano is the ideal spot for an expertly crafted cocktail, an elegant dinner, or a tasty brunch after a morning's shopping. The Café Romano Lounge Bar, a gloriously quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city, is perfect for a relaxing break during your day in Rome. The hotel offers 2 exclusive locations for events and meetings of up to 70 people: the spectacular, historic reception halls in Palazzo Torlonia, just opposite the hotel. All the services are carefully selected to provide an exceptional stay, from Les Clefs d’Or concierges and 24-hour room service to guided cultural tours or even a personal shopper.

It is a great location, in a historical building, with a staff and decor that makes you feel like nobility. From the moment we were checked in by Ricardo to having discussions with Alessandro via email prior to our stay we experienced excellence in service. It is centrally located and very convenient. Within walking distance of the Spagna metro station, the Spanish steps, and the Trevi Fountain it was our base for 4 nights. Our room was a deluxe double and with its teal walls and antique furnishings it had a refined character that was enhanced by the welcome note, bottle of Rose from the General Manager. It was a comfortable room that was hindered somewhat by the lack of view outside of our window and the narrow bathroom. Excluding the aforementioned, we enjoyed the room and housekeeping maintaining the cleanliness of our room when we returned each day. Dining at Cafe Romano, the hotel restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. We dined outdoors for breakfast and had our dinner indoors. We ordered room service on one of our nights. All the food was delicious, but what made it all better was the service. On one night when we returned from one of our excursions, we heard a singer performing at the Cafe Romano Bar. Although we were tired from our day, we thought that it added to the charm of the hotel and the restaurant. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return when the renovations are completed. I mentioned to Alessandro that I would love to get a tour of the hotel and get more information about its history and the opportunity to see other rooms. All of our encounters with the staff were pleasant and we definitely created some great memories while staying at this hotel. It is a great location with a staff that makes us want to return.

It was fabulous, very comfortable and the staff were all friendly and super helpful. They went out if their way to make sure our stay was great. The location was absolutely perfect, just hear the Spanish steps and shopping district. We stayed 3 nights and we will for sure stay there again in the future.

This a great little boutique hotel just blocks away from the Spanish steps. The hotel is beautiful on the exterior and most of the rooms have been renovated (there is still some ongoing renovations). What I was really impressed with was the attentiveness of the staff. All of the doorman were extremely friendly and helpful. Same with all of the front desk attendants. We were in 4 different hotels in Italy and the staff here was the best out of all of them. I also want to thank the Manager who arranged for a room upgrade (along with a platter of sweets along both a bottle of Rose). It truly was a gracious act and was greatly appreciated. The room was clean and they even had nightly turndown service that also brought fresh towels. If I were to have any downside to this property, it would be that the design of the bathroom in our room was very narrow (although it was very nice and modern). The room also had modern amenities such as multiple lighting, electronic thermostat (with great a/c), and a nice setup on each side of the bed consisting of reading lamp, electrical outlet, and both usb and micro usb ports. I would definitely stay here again for any future visits.

This place is in the heart of Rome. 2 blocks away from Spanish steps, 8 minutes walk to the Trevi fountain, and 12 minutes walk to Pantheon. Not only is it close to all the attractions, but the hotel itself is fantastic (5-star to me), and the restaurant food is excellent.

This small gem is located near almost everything you want to see in Rome but is still a quiet oasis away from the hordes of the unwashed, unclothed and uncouth overwhelming the Eternal City at the moment. You will enjoy breakfast out the back door where you can see some passersby and locals but still not be crowded. Also, the hotel’s restaurant is the perfect place to relax with a drink or light dinner after a day battling the heat and the crowds. We always preferred being outside. The staff are unfailingly courteous and helpful making the place feel like your home away from home. If there is a better hotel in Rome, we have yet to find it and consider the Inghilterra our go to spot for sure.

Warm and friendly staff! We stayed here in June 2023 with my husband, almost 2 year old and extended family. We were given a large suite to accommodate our toddler and it made all the difference. The entire staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location was very central as it was literally blocks away from the Spanish steps, and a short walk to the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Tons of shopping and cafes nearby. We will stay here again!

The location is close to everything for the tourist. The Spanish Steps is really steps away, and there are infinite amount of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel is in one of those elder building, however the inside is finished with really nice design and good taste. The breakfast is delicious and the service is welcoming as well. The only downside is the room is really really small compared to other hotels I have stayed in Italy.

Let’s start with the best part, the staff is extremely nice. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. More so than most hotels. However, there are a couple of negatives. This is an extremely expensive hotel on par with the most expensive room rates in Rome. Unfortunately, though it was very nice, it just does not deliver good value. Our one bedroom suite cost us over $9000 US for four days, it’s standard room would’ve been around $4500. We at first thought we had a bit better deal and didn’t realize that the thousand dollar “supplement” was a daily charge — it’s really a good idea to look carefully when you sign in and the confusion was not their fault. Thank God a goodly portion of this was covered by AMEX points. The bed was as hard as a rock (not uncommon in Rome) and the friendly staff kindly supplied half inch foam pads to soften it up for my spouse. We considered relocating to the grand. hotels Hassler or Eden in a less expensive room and on reflection wish we had. The high floor room jn the “quaint” former nobleman’s mansion had a bathroom entryway so low that we repeatedly smashed our head stepping down into it. Although there was wireless signal there was no Internet access during the entire four days stay. Unfortunately, I did not have a cellular option on my notebook so was not able to do some of the work I had brought with me. We were told there was a temporary outage in the neighborhood, but our friends who had rented an apartment across the street had full Internet. Obviously, this was isolated to the hotel. When it rains, as it often does in Rome, the Hotel does not use the outside dining area for breakfast, or at least it did not do so on the morning of her last day when the inside area was jampacked and with a line of a Chinese tour group members who were Johnny on the spot at 7:15 AM. Fortunately, we had not paid for the breakfast supplement or we would have been out of pocket. Instead we had the opportunity to work on our diets by way of a little unplanned intermittent fasting. It would’ve been nice to have a cup of coffee considering that we were paying almost $100 per hour for every privileged hour at the hotel. If this were a somewhat less expensive hotel, I would definitely come back for the nice surroundings and much nicer staff and would be prepared to put up with the inconveniences and idiosyncrasies. The location is excellent. However, it’s more than probable that we will look at other options next time.

Dear Dane, We truly appreciate your time dedicated to review your experience in hotel. It is always important to know what to improve and have a constructive feedback that you provided to us. Thank you for highlighting satisfaction for our staff delivering the tailored made service and being helpful. I am sorry to hear that you consider our property very expensive, however the Balcony suite is one of our unique products released just few weeks ago and we do have only four kind of them and high season affect the price of the room as well. For that reason unfortunately the price is higher as generally happens with signature made products. Regarding your concern about the mattresses, we have taken a good note and we will try to improve, so we can guarantee to our guest proper good night sleep based on the personal requirements, so we would like to thank you for your feedback. We apologize for no wireless signal, but our provider was having the technical issue and was not able to deliver the service to our guests as for the whole surrounding area. It is possible that your friend did not have similar issue with internet, because there are various providers in the city center that worked. We however provided connection in our lobby area for our guest and we understand it is not the same as having the complete freedom to use it in your room and we apologize for that, unfortunately the situation was out of our control. With reference to breakfast service, we do know that some crucial moments, especially when it rains is difficult to satisfy all our guests in the same time. However, we do hope that in a short future, we will be able to extend our restaurant and for your future stay, you will be able to explore it. I hope you offer us the chance to demonstrate our true level of our hotel on your next visit to Rome and please let me know when you're planning your next trip. I will personally see that your stay will be a successful one. Sincerely, Massimo Colli General Manager

I redeemed my Hyatt points for a 1-night stay at Hotel d'Inghilterra after my 7-day Mediterranean cruise ended at Rome with my companion. The first complaint was how the woman who checked me in (and eventually checked out) stated that "Hyatt took care of my room charges" when that is false and made it sound like I'm a second class citizen at both instances. As I have stated earlier, I redeemed my points and that does not mean that I did not pay for my stay. The room I stayed in was 256 and it needs a renovation. All of windows needs to be soundproofed since we hear the raucous crowd from the bar/restaurant below the hotel way past midnight even with all of our windows closed and the indoor shutters closed does not help. The bedroom is elegant but the bathroom needs a renovation especially when the toilet is in the way to open the glass shower door and I cannot open that door all the way.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel D'inghilterra in Rome. The hotel is opulent with a luxurious decor. It's very well located about a 3 min. walk to the Spanish Steps, about 12 min walk to the Trevi Fountain, and amidst all of the high end shopping. We had 2 rooms in the refurbished part of the hotel so everything was fresh and clean with brightly colored furniture and artwork. Our rooms were both pretty big for a European hotel, with large bathrooms. One note - the shower/tub combo would be very difficult for someone with mobility issues. The hotel has turndown service and they leave little treats on your bedside table - nice touch. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast included which was delicious and very enjoyable. We also had great food at the restaurant for lunch and awesome drinks at the bar. The hotel puts out all kinds of free snacks which is appreciated. This is a great place to stay for a visit to Rome.
