A very comfortable and welcoming hotel. It is ideally situated, in easy walking distance, for all the major attractions. The room was nicely furnished and spacious.Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We recently spent nine very pleasant nights at the d'Inghilterra in Rome. It is one of those elegant, old fashioned hotels which are sadly now becoming increasingly difficult to find. There are lovely, beautifully furnished sitting rooms on the main floor. Service is impeccable and invariably cheerful. We were particularly appreciative of the superb assistance given to us by the... More

This hotel is in an amazing location, close to the Spanish Steps and many great shops. The hotel lobby is uniquely decorated and has a great lobby bar to grab a glass of wine. The room was quite standard, no view, but had a newly renovated large bathroom.

It was with great pleasure that we returned to this Hotel to celebrate my granddaughters birthday. The pickup at the airport was perfect and we even got a glimpse of Sophia Loren at the airport. Check in smooth and although we enjoyed the fifth floor roof top views the last time, this time we were placed on the third floor... More

We have stayed at the d'Inghilterra many times over the past 15 years. The hotel staff always make us feel welcome and at home. Our room on the 5th floor had a lovely terrace and we enjoyed sitting out in the November sunshine. The breakfast buffet has a great selection of hot and cold items. The concierge and front desk... Other comments I have read are accurate. The rooms are in terrible condition. The worst hotel of the entire trip! Everyone on our hotel had complaints. The hotel personnel (except for the doormen) were not customer service oriented. The first night when we returned from a group dinner, we had a knock on the door for turn down service –... More

Astoundingly considered a five star, the hotel is shoddy, filthy, and extraordinary overpriced. Professor Luigi [--] the owner and must hate people, there's no other explanation for the contempt he show’s his guests by charging the amount he does for a two star accommodations at best. The location is amazing. Great Bar. Charming design. BUT: TThe broken shower. Awful sounds of rubbish cleaner from outside at 4-5 am that was alarming through the closed window. Holes in the fabric of the furniture. Torn wallpaper. Dusty chandelier. Stuck safe door that could be opened only with the clothes hanger. Never received wake up call. I believe that... More

There are only 88 rooms and the small bar and parlors and personable restaurant maitre d' made this feel quite homey. The location, on a quiet small pedestrian street just a few minutes' walk from the Spanish Steps and within a 10 to 30 minute walk of most of Rome's attractions, can't be beat. Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
