With refined standards, the Baglioni Hotel Regina in Rome is an exquisite 5 star experience without the price tag. I had the incredible opportunity to stay there with Ormina Tours It’s the service levels here that defy comparison. A 24-hour butler service is dedicated to guests staying in suites and this extends to full concierge functionality including packing and unpacking luggage, theatre tickets and tailoring of the your entire city stay. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at this magnificent hotel – as a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, a comfortable and enjoyable stay is assured. Housed in one of the most historic buildings, the property was built in 1904 and hosted Queen Margherita of Savoy while her adjacent Palazzo was nearing its completion. Located on Via Vittorio Veneto (immortalised on film), with all the rooms having spectacular views. The front street facing rooms look onto the former residence of Queen Margherita of Savoy (now the US embassy), while the view to the rear has sensational views over Rome toward Piazza Venezia and St Peters Basilica. Upon checking in I met then concierge Riccardo, a lovely local who gave us some great tips about where to go amongst all the tourist – check out the Coffee with the Concierge blog here. Staying in the Dolce Vita Suite, we had an amazing view to Margherita Palazzo on the corner. The room itself was divine with dark marble and wood that gave a particular majesty and charm to the suite, with custom designed furniture and contemporary artwork too. I had the pleasure of checking out the Penthouse, which was particularly impressive. While it is typically reserved for political dignitaries and heads of state, it is also an interesting alternative for families or multiple couples. It can fit up to 7 guests, making it a spectacular alternative to 3 suites. After a long flight I decided to treat myself to a little something at the hotels Spa & Wellness facility. There were some great options, but I decided to go with a featured special skin treatment influenced by Cleopatra, which involved use of donkey milk. There is also a free spa and gym available. The hotels Bruenllo Restaurant was fantastic, with live music in the evening. It has a Moroccan influence, and the food (both buffet breakfast and dinner) is delicious.

Choosing a hotel in Rome is a bewildering process. We ended up with a two bedroom two bathroom suite at Baglioni and were very happy with our choice. Our room had been recently renovated and was great. Not noisy at all, and very nicely appointed. Staff were very friendly upon arrival and every time we walked past. The breakfast is excellent. We discovered the trick is to get to breakfast at (say) 7:50 rather than 8:05, because businessmen would descend on the breakfast room like a plague of dark-suited locusts. The staff were very good at replenishing, but pays to get there just before rather than just after. The location worked well for us. The nearest metro station was unfortunately closed, which otherwise would have made it work even better. Taxi to the main station was quick and efficient. The hotel has a really pleasant vibe. Everybody - the concierge, the doormen, the desk staff, the breakfast people. We would stay there again without hesitation.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights on the last week of February. We got upgraded to a suite which was amazing and the service was impeccable. The only downside was that the hotel is old so there is no air conditioning! Other than this, the food was great, hospitality excellent & our room was always cleaned on time. Will definitely be staying here again. Very lavish rooms for a decent price :)

Dear Guest First of all I would like to thank you for choosing and for recommending to stay at the Baglioni Hotel Regina. I am sorry for the difficulties you have encountered to set the Air Conditioning in your room, let me clarify that in most of the historical buildings in Roma we have a system with only two pipes that does not allow the hotel to have both Air Conditioning and Heating System at the same time. A part this miscommunication, I am so glad to read you loved everything about your stay and we are all looking forward to welcome you back soon. Please be so kind to contact me personally, I will be delighted to assist you and your boyfriend. Yours sincerely, Massimo Mainella General Manager

A great location! Sometimes the true measure of good service is what happens when something goes wrong. Upon check-in, we didn't like our Suite - The Regina Suite. My wife is very sensitive to smells and the cloth covered walls in the suite had presumably absorbed smells over the years. Now I could smell something when I first entered the suite, but within a minute, I became aclimated to it. Regardless, they wanted us to be happy and upgraded us to the Ludovisi Suite after one night in a Family Suite. We were more than happy with the Ludovisi Suite and Olga, our butler. The suite had a large wrap-around balcony with great views. The furnishings and amenities of the suite were top-notch. Everyone at the hotel was nice, well informed, and always ready to help. The food was good at the breakfast buffet as was the service. One minor issue that some may want to know was that during Olga's day off, which she told us about, there was not a replacement for her. Not that we really required a butler, but you would think there would be coverage every day. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

On the last day of my trip to Rome I found this wonderful place. The staff greeted me in a manner I won't forget, carrying my heavy baggage and making me incredibly comfortable from the offset. The food was second to none, huge compliments to the chef, I was even given food to try that I hadn't ordered, which I have to add was again immense. I ordered the salmon salad and it really was a culinary pleasure, in fact I haven't tasted salmon of such calibre. The manager Fabio was so attentive, leaving me with some gifts to take home with me. I am so glad I tried this place as it really was THE BEST food I have had whilst in Rome. I will definitely be returning and you should try it too, you won't be disappointed, thus place really is amazing. The ambience and vibe throughout was one I will remember and again it was the perfect way to close my chapter in Rome. Thankyou so much to all the staff and the chef, this was a five star experience without a doubt.
