I am Platinum with Marriott and chose the Grand Flora over other properties largely because we were a party of three and rooms for three were very hard to find. But we really enjoyed the Grand Flora. The location was very handy, right on high-end Via Veneto, and nearby to lots of sites and restaurants. We walked just about everywhere except the Vatican, and that was a 10EUR cab ride away.

We booked a two room suite for a great rate and were not offered any upgrades from that...in fact we were put on the second floor and didn’t have much of a view. But in the end being on the second floor was great, no need for elevators for coming and going, and it was fun to look out on the action on the streets below. Our room was large and comfortable and quiet despite being low and near the street. No complaints with the bathroom, it was big enough and had nice toiletries and towels.

Breakfast was fantastic - tons of choices, a cool waffle maker, a honeycomb, and self serve Prosecco! Pastries were out of this world and the coffee was good. Very enjoyable. It was too cold to eat on the rooftop patio but that looked really nice.

All in all we really liked the Grand Flora and would happily stay there again. Recommended!

Stayed during the last week of February and could not have been happier. Staff (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant) were helpful, breakfast was excellent, and the concierge went out of his way to assist with reservations and tickets.

We had Suite 612 and it easily accommodated four (two adults and two teens). The location was perfect for shopping, access to Villa Borghese, and near the Spanish Steps. We will definitely be back.

Pleasant hotel, prime location with lots within in walking distance. Staff very friendly. On-site restaurant still has very limited menu due to lingering COVID impacts. Very expensive for what you get overall. Great rooftop breakfast, amazing views! We had a two bedroom suite and only one bathroom makes it really no better than having two beds in one room. Overall happy though felt we paid $200-$300 too much for what we received over a two-night stay. Thanks to the staff.

We had a quite comfortable and lovely stay for our first stop in a recent trip in Rome. As a higher elite member of Marriott, we got warmly welcomed upgraded as usual and standard. The rooftop restaurant with outdoor access has a beautiful view in the morning. It's a pretty nice place for breakfast, which comes with a lot of options in fresh fruits, drinks and other hot stuff.
The location is convenient, quite peaceful and safe (The neighborhood looks like a business district, since we found a lot of embassies and big banks nearby). It's not right next door to the main POI where crowds normally are. But with about 15 mins walk, we reached Spanish Steps, Patheon, or other famous fountains. But isn't walking the best way to experience Rome? Or if you are with luggage, you'd better grab a cab like we did even though you will be end up with Rome rates.

We reserved a presidential suite almost a year ago after much research into finding a room in Rome that would accommodate our traveling with an adult age son. When we arrived at the Grand Hotel Flora they made no mention of a problem with the suite we booked. However, we were brought to a small, dark suite which we realized immediately was definitely not the presidential suite we had reserved. After alerting them that we did notice the difference, and that this smaller suite would not work for three very tall adults (my son had to stoop not to hit his head on the bathroom ceiling), they eventually admitted that our presidential suite was occupied. There was a second presidential suite that was under construction with broken air conditioning that they offered us as an alternative.
What greatly bothered us about all of this was the dishonesty. If we had not extensively researched the hotel we would not have known they were trying to give us a smaller, less expensive room while we paid for the more expensive one. If they had been candid up front that they had given away our room, and that they would therefore charge us the lower price of the smaller suite, I would not have written this review. But it was extremely disappointing to see that they were perfectly fine with this lack of transparency and did not try to make amends in any way after we discovered it.

Dear KristinP16, thank you very much for adding your comment on Tripadvisor and for choosing the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora! While we understand that the Presidential room overlooking the Borghese garden, initialy assigned, did not meet your requirements, we are very sorry to read that our communication sent to our early May by our Reservation department, was missed. As the external facade of the Hotel is experiencing light painting works, we reassured you of one of our Presidential Suite which view is not affected by the scaffholding. Thank you again for staying with us; we do hope to work with you very soon for your next reservation at the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora. Warm regards, Flavia Casini Resident Manager

This hotel was on our itinerary for my mothers 80th birthday. We booked it along with all Marriott properties as I am a platinum elite member. Of course the pandemic happened and our flights to Italy and Greece were canceled. To be clear, the airlines canceled, we did not. The other two Marriott hotels in Italy gave us a credit and voucher to use at a future date. Understanding the state of the world i was grateful for their consideration.
The experience at the Grand Flora was the opposite. I was basically told sorry you bought a non refundable room, we are open, nothing we can do. I wrote a few times and received multiple emails from Flavia Casini, Resident Manager and Guest Relations, that they would not do anything.
All i can say, at this time in the world, people are being accommodating, helping each other and trying to make the best of situations. The horrible customer service, curt responses and lack of empathy were really surprising.
Im not asking for my money back, its a special birthday, and we want to be in Italy but cant get there. When we do go back it wont be to this hotel. Its so sad and disappointing and surprising for a Marriott property.

Marriott will not refund my prepaid reservation at the Marriott Grand Flora in Rome for mid April even when it was closed during those dates. Don’t believe their President and CEO Arne Sorenson who emailed:

“For guests with existing reservations for any future arrival date, including reservations with pre-paid rates that are typically more restrictive, we will allow full changes or cancellation without a charge up to 24 hours prior to arrival,* as long as the change or cancellation is made by June 30, 2020.”

This is ridiculous. I realize all of us are suffering in this terrible time. I will not forget how Marriott robbed me and others when we were hurting.

Stayed 5 nights in October 2022 using Marriott points. The hotel is located right across from Borghese park on a nice, but busy, street. My wife and I decided to walk to the hotel from the Termini train station. Took us about 25 minutes and we were sweating profusely on arrival. At 57 we should probably not attempt these treks anymore, but if you are in your 20s or 30s it really wasn't that bad of a walk.

Checked in to our room and it was located on the 2nd floor. Room was just okay. Quite small with a really small bathroom. After unpacking we went down to the hotel bar/lounge restaurant. Had a really good meal there and we had 3 other meals there during our stay and they were all great with reasonable prices and excellent service.

The buffet breakfast at the hotel was actually a big disappointment. Many reviews we read pre-trip raved about the breakfast. Well i don't know what to say about those reviews, but for us after having such amazing breakfasts at our previous 3 hotels on this trip this was by far the worst buffet from our 6 hotels we stayed at this vacation. One thing that is true is the location of the breakfast is wonderful with amazing views of the city.

Overall, this hotel was good but not great. Using points was a good choice as all the Rome hotels were priced very high. Best feature of this property was the food and service in the lounge restaurant.

I can't tell you much about this hotel, but I can tell you about how it's managed; terribly. Due to the pandemic our cruise, and flights were cancelled. All offered refunds. In full disclosure, we had guaranteed our stay in the three hotels booked, but due to the pandemic, we received refunds for everything... except this hotel. Marriott called them, and the concierge offered a voucher but, "needed to get approval from the manager." The manager then contacted us, and informed us unlike the other hotels, and airlines, he had no intention of giving us anything. What transpired after that was a series of condescending emails. Sad, we would have never used the voucher, but this person's stubbornness and nasty communications tell me all I need to know. Take your chances, it's probably a nice hotel, but make sure you don't need anything out of the ordinary because here the customer is apparently always wrong here.

Such a wonderful and lovely place to stay. The hotel is rated 5 Stars by the local hotel bureau, but this hotel would easily be 6 Stars based on how nice it is. Yes it is pricey, and so is everything in Rome. One thing everyone must understand in the city of Rome is that every hotel is expensive. Even the 1 star hotels. And most are loud and run down. This hotel is EXTREMELY quiet and sleep is very easy to get, especially from jetlag arrivals from the USA like ours was. Stayed 2 nights, was upgraded to a suite since I am a Platinum Member, and given extra points since there is not a hotel club lounge. Very nice stay and well worth the money. And one more important item of interest: Taxis!!! They will rob you blind on fares. But at this hotel, they get the taxi for you and make sure the taxi uses the meter, goes straight to your destination (instead of in circles to run up the fare) and even tells you within 1 Euro what the price will be. I really love that and so will you if you have ever been in a Rome Taxi without anyone regulating them.
