The hotel and service were beyond our expectations. The staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfast was wonderful. The morning chef greeted us as dear friends each morning. The location was good too. I would definitely stay again the next time!

I returned to the St. Regis in Rome after a 13 year break and I wasn't disappointed. We traveled with my in-laws on their first trip to Rome so I wanted it to be special. It is a spectacular building with a stunning lobby and bar area. Rooms and very comfortable with nice amenities. I requested adjoining rooms and an...

Dear Guest, as a valued Starwood Preferred Guest Platinum member, we appreciate your most eloquent feedback . We are glad that after a 13 year break, you admired our historical building one more time as well as its central location, strategic for sightseeing. We are also very pleased to learn that Louise, Daniele and all the staff performed exceptional service,...

Of the four hotels my wife and I have visited on our trip in Italy so far on our one year anniversary trip, this has been by far the most mediocre. Although we were supposedly upgraded to a deluxe from superior room as an SPG gold member, the room has the tiniest bathroom you can imagine and is by no...

This is a beautiful hotel with an impressive lobby and very friendly front-of-house staff. The hotel picked us up from the airport after a long flight from Charlotte, NC. We waited nearly two hours before our rooms were ready, though the hotel provided us coffee and cookies in the lobby while we waited. Both our room and our daughter's room...

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing the details of your visit at The St. Regis Rome on TripAdvisor. We are very frequent guests at Starwood properties around the world, and generally enjoy the experiences we've had. But our latest 2-night stay in Rome was the worst we've had - at arguably Starwood's best property there. In the interest of a little diversity although we'd stayed at the St. Regis before, we decided to try this hotel despite our...

Dear Guest, We are deeply sorry that your room assignment did not meet with your expectations and that you and your wife did not feel comfortable during your stay. Superior rooms are just one of the three available rooms' category (together with deluxe and imperial accommodations, featuring complimentary 24 hour butler service). Being the St. Regis an historical building, most...

The hotel is unique in structure and some services like SPA and breakfast in the lobby is special experience but with 5 stars service. Each hotel room has a name not only room number. I suggest any one if not able to stay in the hotel at least enjoy the coffee shop or restaurants.

I would give this five stars, but it is just a bit old...but that is also it's charm. Excellent staff. Excellent and slightly dated rooms...but that means high ceilings and big rooms! We had butler services which was instant and effective. We ate at the breakfast buffet which was good, but only good. Also, there are great small restaurants nearby....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
