This hotel is very nice and comfortable. Nice lobby & bar area to relax after a day out wondering rome. WIFI is free in the looby, 30 minutes at a time. Just go to the front desk and get all the information you need. The breakfast buffet is very nice, somthing for everyone, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, meats & cheese,...

Good location near train station, metro and bus stops. Our room was on the 7th floor, quiet but average (sort of three stars). The main problem was that it was overheated and there was no way to regulate temperature (around 28 degrees Celsius). It could be partly mitigated by opening the window. Breakfast abundant but of average quality. One attractive...

Location was good. All travelers should download the offline tripadvisor app. We used that to locate all our hotels during our Europe trip. Hence, no problem in finding this hotel at all. It's a 5 to 10 min walk from the rome terminal to the hotel. We had a dramatic experience in our previous hotel stay in florence as we...

I chose this hotel after my usual hotel in the area became unacceptable. I liked the web site. I liked the hotel more once I stayed there. It is near the termini and several good restaurants. The bus, metro and train are only 3 blocks away. The hotel is clean and efficiently run.The standard American breakfast is good. The staff...

This hotel is located by the main bus and train terminal, though neither can be seen or heard in the hotel. On arrival we were greeted at the reception by a very efficiant team. However no matter how much I smiled at them, I didnt manage to get a smile back. maybe they thought I'de got a bad case of...

My fiancee and I visited a couple of months ago and we were really impressed with the Metropole. It's VERY close to Rome's central metro station, making it easy to reach all parts of Rome. The hotel's public spaces are very elegant and the rooms are to-the-minute modern, with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The entire hotel...

I recently stayed at the Starhotel Metropole for two nights while I was in Rome. I chose the hotel based on the proximity to the Termini Station, but that is all the hotel was worth. We checked into a room that was dated and poorly kept. The bathroom had a dropped ceiling that was broken and you could see all...

Clean rooms which were not huge but nice size by European standards. Walking distance to Termini Station. Breakfast was just O.K.. We would stay there again. The room needed a little more lighting and was a little noisy during rush hour. There should be at least one potato dish on the breakfast menu.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
