The Starhotels Michelangelo embodies all the qualities that make Rome unique: cosmopolitan style, classical grandeur and timeless appeal. Only a short walk from the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo, in the heart of Rome's Baroque splendour, it's hard to imagine a more central location. Many of the 179 rooms and suites, furnished in classical style, offer a view of St. Peter's dome. The Dome restaurant's menu offers local and international dishes in a refined setting, while the discreet, informal atmosphere of bar is the perfect spot for a break, a quick lunch or a cocktail. The 2 meeting rooms can host up to 140 people and are equipped with cutting-edge technology, providing an ideal space for business meetings and private events.

This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Starhotels Michelangelo boasts rooms that many guests find to be comfortably spacious, well-appointed, and remarkably clean, offering commendable views. Its prime location near St. Peter's is often lauded for enhancing visitors' stays by providing easy access to local transportation. While the hotel's service receives accolades for staff helpfulness and language versatility, some travelers have experienced inconsistency. The amenities are generally appreciated, though opinions on breakfast variety and bathroom safety vary. However, some guests feel the pricing, including minibar costs and room rates, does not fully align with the value received.

Stayed for 3 nights , had looked on here etc and thought it looks nice but would probably wouldn’t be great in reality , I was wrong , the hotel was spotless , the rooms were great , comfortable and the location was quiet day and night and very close to the Vatican , which was great as the crowds and queues during the day were massive , so 06:00 breakfast and visited St Peter’s at 07:00 crowd free … The breakfast buffet was ok , but I can’t compare to any other Italian hotels …. If I decide to visit Rome again , then this will be no1 on my list !

Hotel's Favorite
Spacious, clean and very comfortable rooms in a quiet area. Welcoming professional staff, concierge service. Very close to The Vatican and walking distance to other areas of historical interest. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The whole family was happy and we'd gladly stay at this hotel again. Very good for families, couples, history bugs and others who don't need bustling night life just around the corner from where they live. If you want nightlife it is easy and fairly cheap to take a cab and staff will help you order. Our choice of hotel gave us a very relaxing vacation in Rome. Loved it!

This hotel is a stone's throw from St. Peter's square, so great for touring the Vatican and its museums. It's on a fairly quiet street. Fairly small hotel, and the rooms are not huge, but more than adequate. I do wish the shower was a bit larger, though. Breakfast is limited in its variety but of good quality and quantity. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel has sufficient dining options, and there is also a supermarket close by.

We stayed here for the first time in Jan 24 and despite some of the comments on TripAdvisor I can only say that all the staff we interacted with were extremely polite, attentive and helpful (and yes they may speak Italian to each other which is only to be expected in their country). The hotel is well appointed and clean. We had a balcony room and found the room well appointed, great to have a view of St Peter’s Basilica, clean and with the amenities you would expect. Breakfast was comprehensive and although not everything was to our taste there was plenty of choice so no issues. We also ate in the restaurant one evening and found the menu had a good selection and the food tasted great and portions large. You couldn’t ask for a better location to explore Vatican City and wider Rome. Will be returning!

Stayed Dec 2023. Came back for my 25th Anniv celebration coz i know how great this hotel was when me & my son toured Italy in 2017 flew from France. It is a 15 min walk to the Vatican. Guila & staff was so accomodating & even surprised us ( upgraded our room) for our Anniv w/ the greatest room & balcony view. Many restaurants and souvenir stores nearby. The hotel food were superb, we ordered room service for dinner during our stay because we were tired already fr walking all day:) You can walk to the Castle too about 25 min walk from tge Vatican. We took the IOBus City Tour so bus stop was near the Castle anyway. Fr our first night to the last night everything was such a great experience at Starhotels Michekangelo Roma. We will be back again. I hv friends booking there too this March 2024.

We have stayed at a few different Starhotels across Italy and were not disappointed with our three night stay at the Michelangelo. Getting to the hotel late in the afternoon from the airport was easy after taking the Leonardo Express to Termini and then the 64 bus to right around the corner from the hotel. Only €1.50 each for the bus ride. We had a room right at the top on the 7th floor where the views were amazing. The most comfortable bed, a pillow menu and tea/coffee facility made our room just perfect. Toiletries provided in the large bathroom which also included a bath for a relaxing end to a busy day touring the sites in Rome. Breakfast was served in a large room on the ground floor with plenty of space and never felt crowded. Lots of choice from hot and cold selection as well as some sweet treats. Our 3 nights stay went all too quickly and we are already planning a return visit in 2024.

We stayed at the Starhotels Michelangelo-Rome Dec 5-13, 2023. Our stay was wonderful. We opted to include the breakfast buffet as part of our package. The buffet has a large variety of options so there's something to please everyone. We also had dinner at the hotel a couple of times and were very please with our meals. The hotel is very clean and our room had been updated/remodeled. The staff was exceptional and always helpful, especially Guest Services (Concierge) Guilia and Chiara (I'm sorry as I may have misspelled her name). These ladies can help you with anything! They were terrific. This hotel is in the perfect location if you plan to visit the Vatican; only a few minutes walk. It is also just 15 or 20 minutes walk to the bus stop at Castel Sant'Angelo for the hop on/hop off buses which take you to many of the most popular Rome attractions. As there are many USA tourists that come to this hotel, the staff is very fluent in English. My Italian is really bad. We did the online 'fast check-in' to speed the check-in process at the hotel.

Our room (419) is very clean, spacious for me and my wife, don't have any complaints except for the internet, we only have it for 1 night, for 3 nights after til we check out, no internet, keep following up to the front desk but I guess not a priority. It's very important for me to be online everyday because of trading and in 3days, missed some lucrative deals

Dear 621nestorb, Thank you for having been our guest. We are sorry that, due to an event beyond our direct control you were not completely satisfied with your stay. Because of a serious fault in the telephone lines we were left without wifi for some days. Unfortunately this was an external fault that could be fixed only by the provider company and it took some days. We are happy that the rest of our services and the room were suitable to your expectations . Hoping to have you back as our welcome guest, We remain Best regards Mr Lorenzo Nencini GM

My wife and I just returned from a week in Rome staying at the Michelangelo and had a great experience with the hotel. It was very clean, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the location is great. Most of the tours and activities we had booked were early in the day and having breakfast available at 6:30 AM was great. The concierge Guilia was phenomenal, she arranged for a couple of transports for us before our arrival and was very friendly and responsive to emails in the few weeks before we arrived. We would definitely stay here again.
