Went here because of Bruce Springsteen's concert. Arrived by bus from Ciampino airport. From the bus terminal termini it was a close walk. About 10 minutes. It's a family owned small hotel. Very friendly and helpful woman gave us detailed information about the city, public transport etc. Room is large enough, and most important clean. Would highly recommend this place.... More

The bed was comfortable but it was very very very noisy due to all the trains tram and road traffic. The breakfast was poor. Dried out biscuits and sweets. Not a breakfast at all. There was a small kitchen here that could be used for more of a breakfast. The manager was very nice and helpful as well.

Margeritha, the proprietor of the B&B goes out of her way to a wonderful hostess. Rooms were "nicely" sized, included in suite bathroom & shower, free WiFi, (100%, 1000 channels of) Italian TV. Location is a 15 minute walk from the Termini station. Noise from the street can be a bit loud, but it dies down between 11PM-7AM (or I... More

La Rotella nel Sacco is a wonderful little hotel, and the service could not have been better! Margherita (the owner) is such a friendly person, she spent time to explain to me how to get to all the things I wanted to see in home, how to use public transport, where to get tickets for everything I needed, how to... The first of our many issues with this B&B was finding the place. We're pretty good at reading maps, but in the end had to ask the local tobacconist for directions. He responded happily - as he clearly had done many times before - and directed us to an obscure doorway on the next street. The b&b entrance hall is... More

Ok so I am an enthusiast and always delighted to meet another however Margherita takes enthusiasm about her small boutique hotel to new heights. Met on arrival we had a sit down overview with her of everything worth seeing in Rome, transport, eateries, costs etc. The room was delightful with two large shuttered windows, a large firm bed and bijou... I've been meaning to write this review for some time. Four of us stayed at La Rotella nel Sacco the week prior to Christmas, and we had an outstanding experience. I had researched hotels and B&Bs very carefully with the intention of sharing the best Rome experience possible with friends and family. This place did not disappoint. Immediately upon arrival,... My wife and I stayed at La Rotella nel Sacco earlier this month and we were very pleased that we did. Margarita is a wonderful hostess and made us feel very comfortable. The room we had was clean and neat. Likewise, the bathroom was clean and there was plenty of hot water to shower. The location is perfect, very close... More

Very friendly welcome by Philippe. He told us right away how to get around in the city. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Hotel is close by a bus/tram stop. Our only disappointments were the breakfast, which consisted of plastic wrapped snacks and some noise from the trains in the morning. Walking to the train station takes... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
