We had a tiny room which they insisted was the Deluxe that we had paid extra for. The bathroom was absolutely tiny, my husband could just about get through the door. The room was very old with damp in one corner and paint peeling off, and very old carpet, which I tried not to look too closely at, the corners were full of dust and mould. The shower gel ran out and they never refilled it. We had 4 rooms between us and most of the ACs didn't work, and it was stifling hot! And on two mornings, two of the rooms had no water at all, so couldn't shower. The only good thing about it was the staff, they were very helpful, but couldn't fix anything, but they were very friendly.
Good location to be able to walk to all the sites you want to see. Nice bathroom and standard room size. The AC never really got cold which was rough when you would be out in 100 degrees all day and just wanted to come back to a cold room.
Me and my sister stayed here for 3 nights and we loved it. It is such a beautiful hotel with the Rome Italian theme. All the coridoors are painted and decorated with pillars and scenes to make you feel like you are really in Rome. We also loved the room decoration, with a vatican feel. Mirrors, gold, fancy curtains and a fabulous large Marble bathroom. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly and super helpful. WiFi was great and they had luggage storage for us on our last day. The room had all the facilities you could need for a short stay in the heart of the city. The trevi fountains and colusseum were a short walk away. There was a great launderette across the road for those in need (such as myself) and a fab Irish bar on the corner. The room was super clean. Would definitely recommend to stay here. …
Fantastic stay, simple, clean, safe & Great location just what you need for a weekend away Breakfast was simple but good, staff brilliant greeting you and remembering your preference to drinks etc Only criticism we had was room 308 overhead shower pressure was poor thank goodness we had the hand held shower attachment! Location was perfect! Easy to get the train from the airport and the metro to get to places like the Vatican city Walking distance to main attractions colosseum, trevi fountain etc There was an Irish bar, gelato, shops, supermarket and restaurants on your door step which were much cheaper than the main tourist hotspots Our favourite restaurant/places were cafe roma near colosseum expensive but fantastic aperols there & our favourite restaurant was restaurant de trani which was also next door to a cafe which was also brilliant Will defiantly be returning!…
Right where you need to be, easy to find, local to all the sights and hustle and bustle. Only issue I found with the hotel room it’s self was that the bed was not attached or secured so slid when you sat down or wanted to sit with your back on the headboard the bed would slide from beneath you. Would return if going to Rome again.
We enjoyed a lovely 4 night break in Rome and The Britannia Hotel was the perfect base for exploring the city. Beginning with a very warm welcome we were impressed with the historic architecture of the hotel and the well appointed room and en-suite. The breakfasts were excellent and the service friendly and helpful. The location is very central and within walking distance of many of the key sites - with bus and metro links nearby for those more extensive outings. Highly recommended.
Great location, quiet and close to metro and bus to reach the main tourist attraction in Central Rome. The room was rather small, but very nice. Breakfast was OK, with enough options. The staff was very polite and helpful.
We stayed four nights at the Britannia and would recommend staying elsewhere. It seems that this motel is having cash flow problems coming back from COVID. The front desk was understaffed and the workers who were there appeared to be newly hired and poorly trained. Breakfast items were almost always empty..we ended up going elsewhere for a paid breakfast after the second day. Our shower door kept on falling off and the staff ignored our requests to fix it. The towel warmers did not work. The room’s A/C would not work which forced us to open the window at night. Consequently, the outside noise kept us awake. One day somebody dumped some garbage bags open in front of the hotel but nobody in the hotel bothered to clean up the mess. No pride in the motel and no mgmt in sight. The location was great but that is the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Hopefully, increased occupancy post-COVID will allow them to get their hotel in order.…
Wonderful Hotel in the city centre. Walking distance to the main attractions and right near one of the best shopping streets in Rome. The staff was very nice and helped us with tour and restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable. I definitely recommed it!
A beautiful 4 star luxury hotel in heart of Rome, near every tourist attractions and central station, the hotel staff is professional and caring and the hotel offers so many services like tours and transfers !
