Location was excellent since it was both walking distance to multiple sites and the train station. Our room was very nice with recent updates and a perfect size for two people. Hotel staff was very accommodating and provided a map/directions, called cabs for us and stored our luggage after check out. They also provided early check in to our room.... More

Such a wonderful stay. We had a special occasion during our stay at this hotel and the hotel and staff welcomed us and accommodated beautifully with a bottle of wine and fruit basket, so kind! We could not be more grateful for their wonderful hospitality. We stayed in the balcony room which had a great amount of space, and very... More

Our first trip to Rome and this was our first hotel. It was beautiful, clean and walking distance to anything we wanted to do. The room was clean and comfy, the breakfast was delicious, the employees went out of their way to help us. They gave us great suggestions for local restaurants and sites to see. They made reservations for... More

Excellent boutique hotel, close to cafes, shopping, transit station & tourist attractions however very quiet. Enjoyable breakfast with plenty of variety and staff more than helpful & friendly. Will definitely stay there again on next holiday to Rome.

This is a charming, and even historical hotel in a great location near the Termini Train Station. Rooms are somewhat small, but clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to see to our comfort and answer our questions. They provided us ice at any time and also laid out a complementary bottle of wine on the day... More

"Not a problem" was the answer to any question. The staff offered dining ideas that were a highlight to our visit. The breakfast was the finest we have experienced. The location was convenient to buses and local attractions.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Britannia. The room was very comfortable and large (on par w/ some U.S. hotels), breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. Easy walk to main train station and close to metro and bus made it easy to get to all of the sights we wanted to see!

Great hotel in a very central location - though still quiet at night. Within 15-30min walking distance you can reach ALL major tourist attractions. Alternatively, the next bus and metro stop is in 3min walking distance. The hotel interior is indeed "British" - so rather old-fashioned - but well maintained. The rooms are small, but if you choose a balcony... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
