We were on vacation in Italy and wanted a centralized location to see the Roma sites. This place matched what we needed and was perfect in the heart of Rome. Clean rooms, good bed, nice bathroom, and professional staff.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and have found that the staff are always welcoming . The car service from the airport is super helpful when one is jet lagged. Rooms are comfortable, although the showers are small. The breakfast on the rooftop is very good with amazing views. The only reason I did not rate it a... More

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon - A bottle of prosecco was waiting for us when we arrived in our room. It was the perfect way to start the trip. The hotel is clean and has a lot of charm. The staff is very kind and friendly. We loved having breakfast up on the rooftop garden. The... More

Location was awesome, just north of the Pantheon, quiet but close to plenty of places to dine and hang out. We walked to everything - Coliseum, Vatican, etc. Rooms were recently upgraded so everything was fairly new, very clean and comfortable. Family of 5, we got 2 rooms, a suite and a regular double, both were plenty spacious enough. Will... More

We stayed at this property 13 years ago and had a nice experience then as a couple. This time we brought back our 13 year old daughter and booked the apartment, which has its own entrance and is quite large. It has a small kitchenette (which we never used) and the bathroom was positively huge. As noted in one of... More

I choose this hotel in part based on recommendation from a travel book. The location is amazing! It is so convenient to everything. We never used public transportation because we didn't need it. We walked to the Vatican, Colosseum without any problems. Spanish Steps was a nice walk (though they are still closed). Steps to Piazza Narvonna and Trevi Fountain,... More

We've stayed at the Hotel Portoghesi at least ten times in the past 16 years. We have always found it quiet and comfortable, the staff is helpful, and the location is unbeatable, near both Piazza Navona and the Pantheon and plenty of great restaurants. We love the rooftop breakfast room and appreciate the addition over the years of an enlarged... More

Quaint small hotel. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Traditional style with up to date bathrooms. Room sizes can vary in this historic building. Elevator is very cozy. Pretty terrace setting for breakfast. Very convenient location for visiting Rome.

My husband, daughter and I spent 4 days at this lovely hotel, the staff was a great help in giving directions to the local sites, especially Marco. The room was clean and we loved the very large bathroom!

this hotel was recommended by a close friend and i really wanted to like it. our first night seemed to go fine. but our 14 year old daughter woke up completely covered with bites--more than 100 at last count. i think we found three bedbugs in the room, but i've never seen them before and didn't realize what they were... Dear Sir, travellers carry bed bugs around with them day in and day out, wherever they go; hotel rooms are particularly vulnerable given the high guest turnover rate. Moreover, it is not possible to screen the guests or prevent bed bugs from being brought into the rooms. In most cases, the bed bugs found in infested areas such as hotels,... More
