Stayed at the Hotel Alexis for three nights. The foyer of this hotel is very small and our room was also pretty small but adequate. Breakfast was a typical continental although you could pay extra if you wanted more. Didn't find the staff overly friendly. The location was pretty good, close to the main train station and to buses and...

Needed a room on short notice after an evening pub run. The Alexis Hotel filled all the needs: near the Termini Stazione, clean, wifi (a bit spotty, though), coffee & croissants in the AM, freshly laundered linens, and clean - no moldy shower box. Typical Roman family run hotel with small rooms + private bathroom. I would have given it...

We spent four nights in Hotel Alexis in September 2016. We arrived by coach from Ciampino Airport and the hotel was only a short walk from the bus stop beside Termini station. The location is very good for trains, buses and the metro and it is within a comfortable walking distance to many of the main sites. We had lunch...

We stayed for 3 nights in October 2016, very welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable, clean and quiet rooms. Location is great! Close to restaurants, gift shops, supermarkets and the main train station! Couldn't ask for more!

Hotel Alexis is well located for those wishing to explore Rome, particularly in relation to train travel. It's a 5 to 10 minute walk to Roma Termini. The rooms are quite small without being uncomfortable and in need of an update. However, for the price, they are fine. Noise levels from the street below are very annoying, so ensure you...

The area is a little seedy but that is to be expected worldwide around train stations. The hotel is a short walk from Termini; the staff are friendly and accommodating. Rooms at Alexis are big and clean - good sized bathrooms with decent water pressure. There was an odd smell from the pipes, but keep the bathroom door closed and...

It was really nice experience to be in Rome. Hotel Alexis staff were so friendly and so helpful. Room was clean but beds were just a little old so you can feel bedsprings. But anyway If I will go Rome again , I will choose this hotel again.

We were really satisfied with everything, the staff was nice, the room was comfy, it was well worth it for the price. There are several restaurants and bars near the hotel, and we were also given tips how to spend less in the city :)

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
