We stayed at this hotel for three nights. We were three couples. The hotel us typical old European which was great and the location was perfect. We booked this hotel specifically because of the rooftop bar and the view of St. Petersburg. Two of the three nights they had a private party so we could not use this area after...

Fantastic location, just a few mins walk from the Vatican, Hadrian's Mausoleum, Bridge of Angels etc. Unfortunately I had booked a "superior double room" which turned out to be a tiny, hideously dated, dark room, certainly not worthy of 4*. There wasn't even a window in the bathroom and the bath itself was dirty and had chips missing. There was...

I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions and can only sing the praises of the staff and their tolerance of our lack of knowledge of their language. The rooms were always clean and yes small, but that is Europe. I can say that after travelling from Australia, it was a delight to be greeted by a...

This cafe is there for the simply beautiful views! A lovely view of the Vatican City while you enjoy a lovely coffee is one of the nicest things you can enjoy in Rome. The food service was a little slow and portions sizes were small but it wasn't overly priced and the atmosphere more than made up for it.

Stumbled across this place whilst walking the streets near the Vatican. Simply the best views you will get when in Rome. Great drinks and really friendly staff. 360 degree views of this magical city. If you don't believe me then check out the panoramic attached! Enjoy!

This hotel is very nice compared to Rome standards, it's a 7-10 minute walk away from the Vatican. There is also slot of restaurants near by to try great Italian food. There is a beautiful roof top garden bar which offers drinks and snacks. The wifi works great and all the staff are super friendly and helpful.

We were, unfortunately, overly underwhelmed by this hotel. Our room- a superior double- was very small and we were woken up at all hours by telephones, talking and banging! The walls are so thin you can hear conversations between rooms. Our window overlooked some apartments which meant we couldn't have the curtains open at all as there was zero privacy....

The hotel is located in between Castel St Angelo and the Vatican. There are some lovely bars and restaurants just a few minutes away and some great shops for the more religious souvenirs. The rooms are not what you see in the pictures, at least ours wasn't. It was a bit shabby and tired looking but was comfortable and had...

We booked the Hotel primarily for the location. It was situated near the Vatican and therefore allowed us to walk around an area we had only briefly visited previously, and secondly it was within walking distance of the Stadio Olimpico for the Italy Wales Six Nations Rugby match which we were attending. Ticked both boxes- all good, or so we...

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
