Last Thursday 18th August I was 65. I had decided 8 months ago I wanted to do something special for this birthday. So I booked a 5-day trip to Rome. Took my 14 year-old Granddaughter and we had a blast of a holiday. We went to the Vatican and I shall have special memories for ever.

This hotel was perfect! The rooftop garden was amazing at night. The staff were very friendly and gave us recommendations of restaurants near by. It was perfect location really close to the Vatican City! Room was lovely and had some lovely touches. I would recommend this hotel! Only down side the water was not restocked everyday.

everything was great, attention and accomodation, the a/c was not specifically efficient, but the location is perfect. You have a lock in your room and the one in the front door, so it does make you feel safe. The shutdown curtains are also nice if you had a late night and are willong to sleep in. My husband found the... More

Booked this hotel after seeing a Trip Advisor recommendation and we were not disappointed. The hotel is small and quirky but really well done. The rooms are fitted out in a contemporary design and spacious. Ensuite bathrooms quite small but very well appointed. At the top of the hotel there is a lovely terrace area with comfortable seats and tables... More

Room is a bit small, however room is modern and new, with a nice toilet. I booked two rooms that are connected with each room has its own bathroom. The bigger room has a nice toilet and very spacious with heated floor. A nice touch if you stay during cold season. Our rooms are perfect for families staying together with... More

This tiny hotel has ZERO amenities and very poor soundproofing. I stayed in a suite and could hear the foot traffic of neighbors upstairs and the bathroom of the neighbor next door. The air conditioning was also tiny and couldn't keep up with the size of the room. Overall a crappy little hotel. Was surprised it ranked so high on... More

We stopped for 3 nights at the end of June. We arrived quite late in the evening but we were met with a very warm welcome and shown to our room (2nd floor). If I'm honest the room was a little smaller than I would have expected but it was spotless, had a well equipped bathroom and a small fridge... More

We had the pleasure of staying at the Vatican View for 2 seperate stays in May. This is the place if you intend to spend time in and around the Vatican City! The one thing better than the location was the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. Superb and simply enhanting! Bellissimo

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
