Budget friendly, again you get what you pay for. Transportation was within walking distance. The rooms are in the basement but if you are there to just sleep its ok. Eating places within close distance as well.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Rome on a budget then this is not a bad option. We found Melanie and Alex very helpful in arranging transport. The room is in the basement so is naturally quite cool. We did have a problem with the shower but I understand Melanie has since fixed this. It's a 5-10...

We had to wait an hour for Melanie to come let us in to the room. When she arrived, she told us it would be another hour until the room was cleaned. We protested, so she walked us to their "other location," which was actually an entirely different B and B that was more expensive. We of course didn't find...

The rooms in the B&B are in the basement of a building but the room did have a terrace. It was also surprisingly spacious with a walk in wardrobe, good sized bathroom with bath and shower, plus bedroom with table, fridge and double bed. Breakfast was provided in the form of convenient snacks, and the decor was interesting. There are...

I really liked the oriental theme of the room, it was clean and nice smelling. There was free wifi, and free printing outside the room which really made things more convenient. There was no TV in the room though. And the B&B wasn't easy to find, but once you're settled in the room, you wouldn't regret your choice in staying...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
