Beware of this hotel! This hotel accused us of breaking their lock and door handle and charged us 178.50€! We checked in on 30/12/16 and on 31/12/16 we received an email from Booking.com saying "the hotel will deduct 178.50€ from your credit card because you broke the lock and door handle". Which we did not do! How can we break...

This B&B is very well situated to visit Rome, close to metro station and on acceptable walking distance from the city center. The rooms where very comfortable and clean with a nice breakfast and a personal touch by the owner. The only negative issue was the street noise, which is probably every where in Rome an issue.

When I go to Rome I always stay at this great place. The staff is very friendly and the location is very convenient to take the tube or walk to Rome. There are a lot of good restaurants near the b&b!!

I was in Rome for 5 times, and this hotel was the best! Aurora is very helpful, the hotel itself is very clean, furniture is new, breakfast is nice-yougurt, cereal, juice, sandwich, coffe and buns-not typical for other italian hotels! The location is good-subway station is just round the corner and Termini station is only 10 minutes away from it....

Spacious room, clean, well decorated. Breakfest was simples, but enough. Location is good. Easy to go around the city from there: castro pretorio station is about 50 meters. Aurora is a very kind host.

Close to the main train station. Rooms where big enough for what we needed, and very clean. Price was reasonable and Aurora was very helpful. Like other reviews stated the hardest part of the exercise is actually finding the entrance as it's not signposted as such!

It took us about an hour to find this place, because there are absolutely no signs of it. Moreover, even in the building, we went through each floor looking for it... it's on the first floor fyi. Aurora made really delicious croissants each morning. Place seems like newly renovated, and room was spacious. The only concern i had was the...

I have stayed at the b&b Castro Pretorio recently and it was the disaster: the window was not locked because the lock did not work. Moreover, the window faced to the main street with lots of cars during the night. I could not sleep during the night at all. Unfortunately the personnel was not supporting and refused to change the...

The rooms is hard to find the first, cause there isn't a sign to indicate it. But after you find it and after your first walk to town your could realize the strategic position of the rooms. Near to everything even by foot or on bus, metro. Big nice rooms, with wifi and an owner eager to answer in whatever...

OK, let's start with the one negative and some helpful advice if you choose to use this place as finding it was not easy if you don't speak Italian! There's nothing from outside the building to show it's a B&B and as it's in the area called Castro Pretorio people simply say you are in it when you ask for...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
