Such a wonderful experience! Everything at the Aventino Guest House was delightful. Alessandro welcomed me warmly upon check-in and showed me to a lovely, well-appointed room. I was so comfortable and felt so safe during my whole trip. The location is perfect for studying the ancient city and very close to several bus stops if you want to go farther.... More

My friend and I stayed here for a total of 6 nights. We couldn't be happier with our stay. The staff was attentive and made sure that every amenity was available to us. The rooms are clean and modern. The location is perfect 5 min walk to the train and 10-15 min walk to the Roman forum and Colosseum. Supermarket... More

This guest house is about 5mins walk to the Roman forum and Palatine Hill and just a bit further to the Colosseum. The rooms are so clean and really nicely decorated and the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. We didn't have breakfast but you could have juice, water coffee, and biscuits 24 hours a day. We also got... More

A very basic guest house that is within easy walking distance to all ancient rome's attractions. The rooms are comfortable and clean however if you are to be placed in the annex as we were i would strongly advise you take a travel kettle as getting to reception is a pain. The breakfast is very basic but this is a... More

Horrible reception times When booking pay attention that no one will be available to open the door after 20:00. Due to delayed flights, I arrived to guesthouse around 24:00 and found a locked door. The so-called emergency phone number provided at the door was dead and I could not reach guesthouse concierge and reception via neither Facebook or phone. It... More

I have stayed here for business a few times. The rooms are well spaced, there is good Wifi. The shower had good pressure. It is strictly speaking not a hotel since they don't have 24 hour staff -- but the staff in the day / evening are very friendly and pleasant. There is a basic breakfast spread which is good... More

Small, only 10 rooms. Friendly staff, especially Robert, ever helpful. Ideal for those going to FAO for meetings, it is just across the road. Only a few minutes to the Metro blue line station Circo Massimo. Supermarket almost next door, a few nice local eating places on the same street (Eg. Rosso has meals for 7 t0 10 Euros) but... More

Very easy hotel/b&b where you feel at home. We got a warm welcome and a lot of hints of what to see and where to go. Don't miss out on the Orange garden on the hill behind the hotel. You have a marvelous view of Rome in a little orange orchard. A place where many newly weds go to have... More

My wife and I appreciate all that the Guest House staff did for us during our stay in Rome. We could not have been happier, and I have recommended the Aventino Guest House to many people I met at a conference I attended.

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
