We had a pleasant stay with Hotel Malu during our travel from 6/16-6/19 in 2012. The front desk staff was accommodating and friendly. He gave us tips with the trains and sightseeing. We stayed on the main floor that was pretty quiet. It had a old vintage and rustic feel that we loved. The exposed brick walls of the hotel...

Stayed here during the heatwave of 2007 for five days. We used it as a central base to explore Rome's famous landmarks. We were not disappointed by the quality of the accommodation or the breakfasts on offer. This was one of the few trips abroad that we have managed to sleep in a double bed! The room had a small...

The location is perfect for the train station and for visiting rome. It is a 15 min walk to the Colosseum and ancient ruins with restaurants on the way. Make sure you head off the main streets down to the side streets to find the best restaurants. The hotel is within an apartment block but saying that we had a...

The location is perfect. Just a 2 minute walk from the Termini train station (do not use google maps it takes you a long way because it doesn't take into account streets for the trams that so have pavements). When walkin into the hotel my initial thought was it would be terrible as we had come from a rubbish hotel...

Great little place tucked in off small courtyard. Small but comfortable room, very clean, good value for the money. Would definately stay there again, only two block from Main train station. Staff, especially Donna, was terrific

Strongly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Roma for a short visit! The Room I stayed was clean and had all the facilities I need during our stay. It's a few minutes walk from Termini Station, which is the hub for touring around the city. The nice restaurants in the neighborhood are a plus! The only problem being the...

We stayed here for 4 nights in May 2013. The hotel was great, rooms were nice and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel was great, less than a 5 minute walk from Roma Termini (an easy walk with our suitcases and you can get the train from the airport to Roma Termini)....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
