We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel as we were given a small guest house to stay in which had a spacious bedroom, living area with sofa and dining table a chairs, a small but functioning kitchen and a nice bathroom all very clean. The room was dark and quiet at night and in a good location if you didn't... More

Arrival Before booking we had read that the hotel entrance might be hard to find so we didn't have the panic that some of the other travellers have alluded to when we arrived at the hotel. The banner is a little faded and the wooden door has a little keypad at the side so not the hotel entrance you'd typically... More

Arriving to Rome Termini train station with our luggage , started to look for the so called "hotel" - it took us more than an hour to find it, after dragging ourselves through the streets with the luggage - it was suppose to take 10-13 min walk from the train station. The reason was because it's tucked on the left... More

Breakfast in bed....what can be wrong with that? I was a bit nervous about such a small facility, but it worked very well for us. The location was wonderful, we literally walked everywhere. Out of the three hotels we stayed in in Italy, this one had the best bath. We stayed in the turtle room. It was spacious and very... More

My friend and I arrived late at night but found the hotel with ease ( google / street mapped it beforehand). Instructions and map were clear and our room was lovely. I would advise that as there is a number of steps to get to the front door, you pack light if you're not able to lift your own suitcase.... More

We arrived at the hotel "after hours": the self check in instructions were good, no problems there. But we discovered upon arrival that there were four flights of stairs up to the room, no elevators or ramps available. The room was over ninety degrees, as was the rest of the place. We couldnt turn the AC on or the heating... More

We stayed in "sixtus" one of the deluxe rooms. Room was well decorated. Nice bathroom. Hotel is in ideal location. Staff were friendly. Negatives: room was too hot ! And although it was nice it was quite small for a " deluxe" was it worth the extra money ? I'm not sure.

Pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was! The rooms are modern and very clean. Beautiful bathroom with large bath and shower and his and her sinks. Also in the room is a coffee machine, a safe, iron facilities and a built in spacious wardrobe. The maid that greets you is lovely! Very welcoming and friendly. She took us to... More

First of all the picture shown is the fountain in front of the hotel entrance. The entrance is very easy to miss. Also, you must be able to climb stairs to stay here. However do not that deter you. The room was wonderful and manager was very helpful and accommodating. In America call this a bed and breakfast, not a... More

We have just spent a very comfortable 3 nights at the Moses Fountain Guest House. On arrival it is tricky to find your way in... entrance is an old wooden side door to the left of the pretty impressive fountain frontage. We were in the Theresa room, which is very spacious, & has a large washroom with twin sinks, &... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
