We went for a long weekend and stayed "At Your Place". Great location a short walk to the Vatican and easy to get to the Colosseum and the Forum. Also plenty of local eateries and mini marts right by the accommodation. The owner speaks many languages and for us his English was excellent. They serve a nice simple breakfast. It...

this was very good value with excellent breakfast - far more than we could eat and a different selection each morning. Rooms very quiet and clean and great location for visiting Rome attractions. The owner is very helpful. The only draw back was that we would have found it very difficult to find if we hadn't booked the taxi offered...

B&B At Your Place was the nicest B&B we have stayed at in all of Europe. Luca was such a wonderful host and spent a ton of his time explaining to us all of the best spots to visit in Rome, tricks to save us time & money, where to eat, etc! All of his recommendations were wonderful and he...

It was a great choice staying At Your Place. Lovely room, clean. The location is close to Vatican, Saint Angel Castle. It has supermarket near by, restaurants, ice-cream shops etc. The bed and the pillow were one of the most comfortable I ever slept on. Luca was a great host, giving us valuable tips about visiting the important sites, and...

We spent 10 days over Christmas enjoying a family holiday in Rome. The apartment is ideally located within 5 minutes of St Peters and 15 minutes from Piazza Navona, clean, safe and authentic. You feel like a local. The breakfast is generous and Luca's assistance in helping us to make the most of our time there was fantastic. We would...

We stayed here last weekend having booked his sister hotel which was closed for renovation. We arrived 4 hours late due to delayed flight and the shuttle bus breaking down, he called me after 3 hours to make sure we were on route and stayed up to meet us even though it was past 10pm. He didn't even charge us...

I was not originally booked to stay here, I was supposed to be in a similar b & b on the floor below but a disaster with a flooded bathroom made it impossible to stay there so I was moved upstairs to "At Your Place" where I was welcomed at the street door by the lovely Luca who owns it....

I travelled alone, and used the limo service which worked nicely. According to other reviews you could probably use cheaper options like a shuttle bus (to/from Piazza Cavour). I had already planned and ordered tickets for sightseeing before arriving. Luca, the host, however seemed quite helpful if you needed help booking guided tours, and also tips about what to see....

We stayed at Luca's in September 2016. We had never been to Rome before but found we had picked an excellent location - safe, close to the Vatican, within easy reach of bus and metro and within walking distance of many of the popular city sights. The B&B is located in a lovely building. Luca is very helpful, providing maps,...

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
