Excellent room and even better service located in the heart of Rome. Easy to walk to from the train station, and easy to get to all of the main sites. The room was very clean, with an old beautiful wooden ceiling. We were met right when we arrived by Andrea who answered all of our questions and gave us a... More

My friend and I stayed in the Blue Hostel for 4 nights while we when in Rome. The manager, Andrea, greeted us and showed us our room. The Blue Hostel is totally unlike a hostel - it's in an apartment building, and our room was in a hallway shared only by 2 other rooms. The room had a bathroom, clothing... More

So pleasantly surprised by easy access from Termini Station! Love that it was a 17th century convent! Clean, homey, loved the ceilings! Andrea was a wonderful host , so friendly, helpful and went out of his way! We will definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay at the Blue Hostel. We stayed in the Trapezio Apartment, which was spacious and comfortable for a group of four. It is so close to everything, including the train station, and the staff was incredibly helpful. They also provided a map with a bunch of their restaurant and gelato recommendations, and we loved EVERYWHERE they recommended.... More

We would definitely stay at Blue Hostel again if we went back to Rome. The Blue Hostel is conveniently situated near Termini Station and in a nice neighbourhood. The room was clean, quiet and tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed. Staff helped my friend and I get oriented to Rome by providing a very useful map as well as excellent... More

I was blown away by my stay at the Blue Hostel. Attention to detail is at every level - all rooms are en-suite,fitted with high timber framed ceilings and parquet floors, with a serene view over a small private courtyard, which makes it absurdly quiet and tranquil for a noisy part of town. They all come complete with LCD TV,... More

This was a return visit to The Blue Hostel, and with one or two new features in our room since we were last there - fridge, coffee/tea machine etc. - it just gets better and better. I cannot praise The Blue Hostel highly enough. It’s clean, quiet, nicely furnished and decorated, and in an incredible location. On our previous visit... More

We stayed 1 night after long haul before catching the train to Naples with our 2 young adult sons. A great night - lovely authentic rooms with good aircon. Great location both for exploring Rome and the train station. No self service or food available but not a problem with lots on the doorstep. The staff gave great recommendations. Service... More

Perfect place to start my long journey across Europe. Went there 3 weeks ago and the room was great, with a very comfortable bed and clean. Staff was really helpful as well and recommended some good places to see. I recommend this place. :-)

Our stay at Blue Hostel was a pleasant one. Ercole was a great host, and greeted us with a map and extremely helpful suggestions that saved us time and allowed for a great visit in Rome. The room was comfortable, clean, and had great air conditioning as well as a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and TV. There were many stairs... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
