We stayed here for 3 nights and found the Blue hostel to be a great place too be based for the trip. It is easy to find from the main station (2 mins walk) and is ideally located to walk to all of the main attractions. The only time we took the metro system was to get to the Vatican... More

This place was brilliant! Quirky location in an ex convent building. Fully renovated and modern furniture, modern bathroom, comfy bed. Nespresso machine and daily coffee capsule top up. Nothing was too hard, the staff were wonderful and really friendly. Best part - Blue hostel has had their own map of Rome designed specifically for tourists!! It had great local recommendations... We came to Rome for 3 nights child-free in September and had a wonderful stay at the Blue Hostel. The location was spot on being only 5 minutes walk from Termini and in easy access to the rest of the city. The staff at Blue hostel were welcoming and helpful and we would highly recommend staying here! If we return... More

Great communication from hostel manager before we arrived. The Blue Hostel is very easy to find, from the station / airport bus and we were at the door within 10 minutes. It is well placed for walking to all the main sights, such as the Colosseum, the museum and there are lots of small shops and restaurants on the roads... More

Only stayed for one night but the experience was a nice one. Nice and clean room, with a welcoming atmosphere and a much appreciated coffee maker. Next to one of Rome's landmarks, the Santa Maria Maggiore. Got detailed recommendations for cafés and restaurants in the Monti area (not available at other hotels 😉). Will surely consider staying at Bluehostel again,... More

We had two rooms next to each other on the third floor. Very quiet. Very kind introduction by the Hotel Manager Andrea who also helped to carry our luggage. Kids were happy. Very close to Santa Maria Maggiore and train station

Perfection. Beautiful, clean, location, quiet, staff, price. Stop looking and book it!!! I went with my teenage son, the hop on hop off bus has a stop right there, groceries a block away, ATM across the street. Restaurants, gelato just downstairs, what else do you need!!? ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
