Rome City Hostel - Review Having read other reviews about Rome City Hostel, the only thing I had some concerns about were that it had been described as rather small. Don't let that put you off. I have been hostelling for 20 years, all over the world. This place has absolutely everything that you could wish for and it is... More

This Hostel was quite hard to find on foot, as it just looks like a normal door to a block of apartment buildings, that on the surface looks quite drab. But when entering and meeting the staff and the other guests there I was overwhelmed with how friendly everybody was. The place has a really nice chilled atmosphere and it... More

Better than I expected. I got a very warm welcome when I arrived. Yes it's a small hostel but it's homely. Beds and linen are very clean as is the ensuite. Comment area is ok. TV and WiFi are available. Nice to have open windows and fresh aire in the room. I would come again. It's a good area with... More

My sister and I spent three nights at the Rome City Hostel. At first we were a little unsure because it is quite small but it turns out it was exactly what we needed! By day three we already knew so many people and felt completely at home! Michael at reception is an absolute gem who works very hard at... More

Ten minutes by bus to termini.10min to the national livery, It's really nice for the price, the owners a young family were receptive, the young staff are a bit to keep at... More

I had a great time staying here, mainly due to meeting other travellers. It's a very small hostel with only 5 rooms. The ensuite rooms are huge but non ensuite are very small (and hot). Communal area is very small but cosy and so easy to meet people. The day staff were very friendly and helpful. Location isn't too bad,... More

The hostel is about 20 minutes walk from the main train station, or there is a metro stop five minutes away which is easy enough to use. The rooms had everything you needed, and so did the kitchen! The only thing is that the outside sitting area is only for the people in the 4 bed dorm (so try get... More

My friend and I spent 3 nights here in the heat of mid August. Their air conditioning made it much more bearable and sleeping was easy wen the rooms are nice and cool. The hostel was always very clean but quite small so it could be a bit crowded when full. Some of the staff were very lovely and showed... More

I spent there just one night. Very helpful staff, clean rooms, WiFi, small breakfast in the morning included in anyway low price of stay. Excellent spot to start your trip around Rome. The hostel is a bit out of the center in quiet area but roughly 10min walking you will get to subway which can take you to each part... More

I totally recommend it. It has a great staff, the bedroom is comfortable, there was 3 bathrooms available and all of them very clean, organized and have great showers. The breakfast is good and on time. The common area is comfortable and they have computers available if you need. The WiFi is good too

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighborhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
