I really wanted this review to be glowing but my opinion is mixed. Checked in at this hotel which I chose because it has a history. It was originally a convent built centuries ago. They have annexed a newer building around the corner. To get...More

thank you for dedicated us your precious time writing a long comment.
I'm sorry if you had the sensation Dora was annoyed and I assure you nobody of my team think the Americans are pesky!
Maybe my suggestion is to ask about the...More
What a wonderful way to pass the time in Rome-in Trastevere-in a convent! Well, converted, beautiful, attached to an historical church-a lovely suite facing the inner courtyard-wonderful breakfast, eat inside or out, and a 5 minute walk into the heart of Trastevere. The staff was...More
Fabulous find! Good location for us. Comfortable room & mattress! Nice breakfast, good variety of food and of course excellent cappuccinos! Lots of restaurants in walking distance! I loved the area, great hip vibe! Good service and onsite parking available!
I really like the Trastevere area. I had a business meeting in Rome and was happy that the hotel was in this area. It is an old convent\monastery.
The room was fairly big, nice size bathroom and very comfortable bed.
There is air conditioning which...More
Beautiful hotel set in an old convent with it's own chapel. Lovely breakfast lovely although at times seemed distracted by the business event. Downside it is a minimum of 20 minutes walk to the Vatican with the other major attractions being further afield on the...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

We imagined being in the city during the day and retreating to the hotel and Trastevere in the evening. In reality the walking distance between the hotel and attractions didn't seem that far. During our stay we found ourselves walking, on the bus, underground and taxi, a real mixed bag covering all parts of the city. Go for something in the city if you want to cut down on mileage. However you will miss out on a hotel that we really loved and probably good value for Rome and Trastevere had a really good vibe. Whatever you decision, you will love Rome
