A delightful place to stay for a special visit; the hotel was a monastery and there is still a chapel operating and a small group of nuns in an adjoining area. The staff are extremely helpful and the garden is a great place for breakfast. The area is within easy reach (walking) of most places though you have to watch... More

This is the third time we have stayed at the hotel. Always get great service and everything about the hotel is perfect for a relaxing stay in Rome. Will always stay here when in Rome. Has a lovely rooftop where you get a great view of the city. Ideal for watching the sun go down with a Spritz in your... More

This is the second time in three years that I have stayed at this hotel. I first used it while attending at a conference in the city. I was impressed with the location, the breakfast, and the quality of the rooms. So, when my wife and I decided to vacation in Rome this year, I suggested we stay at the... More

The building is really beautiful. The decoration of the rooms look dated - should go for an elegant timeless décor as the rest of the hotel. On checking, I found that my booking from Booking.com shown 1 adult instead of 1 adult, 1 child. They asked me to pay 30 euros per day (3 days). I said that it was... More

If like me and you have never been to Rome before. And If you are planning to go, this is the place to stay. The staff were amazing, as was the setting of the breakfast court yard. Give it a go. You wont be disappointed. Amazing

located on a quiet street in trestevere ( 2 small blocks from the main square) which is known for its restaurants. The staff is nice enough. Breakfast was normal European continental breakfast. Lots of variety. Beds and rooms were very comfortable. This hotel is on the pricy side but you get what you pay for. I'd definitely stay in Trastevere... More

Really enjoyed our one night stay here. The hotel is lovely and they have mixed new and old perfectly. The rooms are spacious and breakfast was both hot and cold. The best thing about the hotel was the warm, friendly reception we received and the kind staff who greeted us wherever we were in the hotel. Great location, great service,... More

A converted monastery in Trastevere in easy walking of the sights of Rome. Very peaceful and away from the road and traffic. Great accomodation and gardens to enjoy for breakfast or just a coffee or drink. Very friendly staff and particularly George who shows a real interest in your day.

First, as you step from the street into the copious, quiet entry courtyard, you immediately feel you are entering a special world. Walking into this hotel, which is a converted convent, we expected a somewhat spartan environment. Instead, we found it to be both welcoming and elegant. It is a throw-back to a time when style was nuanced and understated.... More

I have never stayed in Trastevere before and this turned out to be a quiet area to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere of Rome. It is not central to most tourist areas, however they are all in walking distance or affordable to reach by taxi. The hotel rooms are spacious with effective air conditioning. Breakfast includes a good range... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
