We spent the final week of 2023 at this wonderful hotel that resembles a luxury villa as much as a hotel. Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly by super friendly and accommodating Consuela and Eduardo, who prepared us delicious cappuccinos and espressos at the small, charming bar just off the lobby. If you desire a quiet, peaceful hotel away from the maddening crowds, located in a fabulous and safe neighborhood, Hotel Principe Torlonia is an excellent choice and a terrific value. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast is superb and the service is impeccable. Your transportation options to get to any part of room are plentiful with the Metro Stop Bologna only three blocks away and taxi to the Termini Train Station for less than $15. There is also an exceptional grocery store open 24/7 about 2 blocks away where you can get fruits, bread, cheeses, salamis, Mortadella and so much more. We hope to return to Rome soon to enjoy this great property again.

The rooms are smaller than my bedroom at home with not enough space to pack your clothes away. The breakfast server was so rude and treated guests with total disrespect so made every day start off badly. The breakfast was very plain and often no fruit juice. Not one English channel on the TV. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned well every day.

477 / 5.000 Risultati della traduzione Risultato di traduzione Dear Customer, unfortunately the anonymity of the review does not allow us to go back to your original booking to understand which room you are talking about. The building that houses the hotel dates back to the early 1900s, and was a private villa and the internal structure has remained mostly unchanged over time, so those who expect rooms as large as those of more modern and recently built, you will inevitably be disappointed. Breakfast is a service that we have modified over time and that we are implementing both in the quantity and quality of the products that you can find every morning at the buffet, and we are still continuously looking for varieties of sweet and savory foods that can tickle the palate of our customers. Not only. We are also continually searching for the right balance between full customer satisfaction and the fight against food waste: for this reason we choose selected, fresh products every day and in quantities that do not force us to throw away food. Regards, Hotel Principe Torlonia

Experience at this hotel was mixed. We went on an 11 day trip to Rome with another couple staying at the same hotel as us. Unfortunately when we were shown to our rooms we were disappointed. Our room was rather small had twin beds not a king and there was little space for our belongings. We had to keep most of our clothes in suitcases as there were only six coat hangers provided in a very tiny wardrobe. Hanging space for dresses was inadequate and my wife's dresses hung out of the wardrobe and the door could not be shut. The hotel did replace the twin beds with a king size mattress and supplied another six coat hangers which made life a little bit easier for us. The bedside tables are probably the smallest ones I've seen in my life and you could just about fit a couple of pairs of socks in these. They were very few PowerPoints and the kettle was sat on a small dressing table but there was no mirror over it so rendered the Power Points below useless for my wife to use her hair dryer. You haven't realised the kettle wasn't plugged in and it was only by pulling all the furniture out that we were able to reconfigure things to use the kettle several days into our stay. Our friends stayed in basement room which was more spacious but the there was a significant lack of light and when they arrived it smelt really really musty in fact they complained and the holiday tour operator some send photos of the room but then rejected them because they look too dark not a surprise given that it was a basement room and they got the lights on and the place really smelt of mold we were lucky with our room because at least it had a small balcony which overlooked the neighboring Afghan embassy. The bathroom was of an accent size which is fortuitous because one of our cases was stored underneath the sink unit for the whole of the duration of the holiday. The cleaners did an absolutely fantastic job and the rooms were spotless. We did however have a problem with the shower tray which wasn't draining properly however this was sorted out the same day we brought this up with reception. a special thanks to all the female staff who were fantastically helpful and welcoming and there was also a young barman who was there most evenings and he was really helpful supplying us with ice buckets corkscrews plates knives and forks so we could eat in in the garden which was a very pleasant experience. It's a real shame that the garden being so lovely was not made more use of for example the hotel could put a small cocktail bar in the garden for evenings and an evening restaurants service I'm sure will be very easy to set up in this particular hotel. Breakfast was entertaining. It was over seen by a restaurant manager who behave more like a referee telling us what we could and couldn't do. On a first day when we turned up to breakfast at 9:30 we sat on a table reserve four and he tried to kick his off but we were eventually allowed to stay because we said our friends were coming to join us and as soon as they turned up he told them they'd only got 15 minutes left to eat to get their breakfast and eat it. The attitude of this particular manager did sour the breakfast experience but usually the young Italian waitress rescued things for us and made life more bearable. Like having a referee around scrutinizing your every move when you told off for not using the tongues properly to serve yourself with eggs and sausage. If you ask the manager for anything he would tell you just a minute and usually about five or 10 minutes later he would be back to assist and the lengthy delays were not acceptable. Harmon occasion I was waiting for some cutlery and gave up and took some from another table this I wanted to eat it outside and he just glad at me and left the waitress to to deal with our table. Other guests were equally unimpressed by the attitude of this individual. The most concerning thing was that all Brett although breakfast was served till 10 a.m. the manager virtually marched you out as soon as it turned to 10 am so those guests who have the audacity to turn up at 10 to 10 and very little time to serve themselves and eat their breakfast it did make for a very awkward experience. The receptionists in the main were courteous and kind of one of them didn't appear to know the answer to any of our queries and it transpired he'd only been working for the hotel for about four or five months and he was unable to help with any queries and really blocks any requests that we were our friends had particularly when we wanted to change rooms when we first arrived. In summary this hotel could be so much better those are a mixture of abilities within the within the staff and the premises we thought could be utilized far more effectively particularly with the the garden which was hardly ever used and was quite a spacious and we hope the hotel listens to this feedback and puts in appropriate training to improve things.

Dear Customer, Thank you for your review and for choosing our hotel for your stay. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you may have encountered during your stay, however we feel we must make some clarifications especially regarding the breakfast service and our staff. In all Italian hotels, and ours is no exception in this regard, breakfast is served in a range of about three hours, and opening and closing times must be respected: we understand that people on vacation have more relaxed and dilated times than in normal daily life, but it is good manners to respect rules of behavior even and especially when traveling, so if a person who is a guest of the hotel comes to the breakfast room five minutes before it closes, he or she will have five minutes to eat breakfast. The other rules of behavior such as using tongs to pick up food or not being allowed to take food out of the room are also enforced because of the sanitation laws that we are required to abide by as a business, and if the waiter uses a tone that may seem rude to you it is not out of malice or disrespect to you but because it is his role and because he has to ensure that everyone can access the breakfast buffet in a safe manner for your health and that of other customers. We are committed to providing friendly, professional and high-quality service to all our guests, and we are happy to assure you that we are working tirelessly to achieve this goal. We greatly appreciate your feedback and understanding during this period of transition. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future and provide you with an unforgettable and satisfying stay experience in all aspects. Sincerely, Hotel Principe Torlonia

The hotel was beautiful on arrival but that soon changed when we was told were we was staying for the next 4 nights. I had seen some reviews about rooms being downstairs in a basement and I honestly thought the reviews were wrong when actually no we did stay in what was a basement that had a window but no natural daylight to come through we was so far down. The room was not a 4 star standard at all, I can't speak for other rooms that are in this hotel but if this is what their standard bed and breakfast is I would not recommend and pay a little bit more money and stop elsewhere. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel just simply because when in Rome there is so many nice places to go out and eat, the breakfast did always smell nice and on the last day it looked like there was plenty of options. There is nothing close around the hotel that really represents Rome and I would recommend staying near or in Trastevere, it's closer to plenty of restaurants and closer to the monuments in walking distance. I think I purely picked this out of being a cheaper option but I regret not paying that bit extra for a nicer hotel and walking distance to places, everywhere is flat so if something is a 20 minute walk it's very easy and with the weather it's sometimes the nicer option. The lobby gave the idea of it being 4 star but not the room. It didn't put me off because Rome is such a beautiful place so if you have this booked please don't let this put you off just spend your time out and about but if you are looking to book I would recommend somewhere closer the place I mentioned before.

Dear Customer, Thank you for your review and for choosing our hotel for your stay. We are pleased to inform you that the management of our facility has changed and we are working hard to improve the quality of our services. Precisely with this in mind, we always seek greater contact with our customers, even when booking their stay, and we invite everyone to contact our staff directly so that they can suggest the stay option that best suits your needs. The Basic rooms in the basement are spacious and have large desks, ideal for short stays of study and work, and all are equipped with bay windows which overlook the internal paths of the hotel which lead to our garden and which can be opened for let in light and fresh air. The Basic rooms are also the right compromise for those who want to stay in Rome at any time of the year, spending little and seem to be the favorites of the agencies / websites that offer the flight + hotel package. The real suggestion that we can give to our customers, whether or not you decide to stay at our hotel, is to contact the hotel before purchasing a room sight unseen, also to have them give you suggestions based on your needs and expectations. of travel. We greatly appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future and to offer you a stay experience that meets your expectations and needs in all aspects. Regards, Hotel PrincipeTorlonia

This is not a 4* Hotel and I've stayed in much better 3*s. The rooms are small and the shower is tiny. Instant coffee is served at breakfast and the scrambled egg is cold. Glasses to drink from are not available in the bedrooms, only mugs And the mini bar had to be plugged in( on request) so drinks were not cold on arrival. There is no restaurant and no recommendations from the staff as to where to eat locally. Local restaurants are limited. All in all it is not worth the price

Dear Customer, Thank you for staying at our hotel and for this feedback. The lack of a restaurant inside our hotel (a service that is never mentioned, so we don't understand why expect it) is dictated by the fact that the Piazza Bologna area is full of restaurants and clubs, and being the area very residential you can find restaurants with much less touristic menus than the restaurants in the historic centre, therefore our guests have various choices on where to eat even outside the hotel and enjoy a little daily life in an area Rome frequented both during the day by people who work in the numerous embassies or offices that surround us, and by night by students who attend the three university campuses located within 1 km around our structure. As for the rooms, you stayed in a structure over 100 years old and not in a modern building built for tourist use with oversized rooms, therefore the size of the rooms follows that of when the villa was built at the beginning of the last century .à In all the rooms there is a kettle for making tea or instant coffee and it is free for customers to use, furthermore the courtesy kit contains plastic glasses packaged separately: the presence of glass glasses in the rooms is almost never foreseen since in case of accidental breakage of the glass, you could hurt yourself trying to pick them up or walk on glass and injure your foot. Instant coffee is served for breakfast in all hotels in the world, but since we are in Italy, we also make cappuccinos and espressos upon request and with no extra charges, which was explained to you at check-in along with all the other information. Regards, Hotel Principe Torlonia

Spent the last week here, front desk staff very pleasant and helpful, Room was good if not a little dated and tired. Good location if you are willing to travel to see the main sites and a good base to see sites others might not see. Good bus links and close to 2 metro stations. Only main issue was with the breakfast manager and his rudeness! (monday - friday)The other lady mainly kept out of the way! The Sunday Lady doing breakfast was very pleasant but we didn't see her through the week! as one of the main elements of a B&B I have never stayed anywhere that has made you feel so uncomfortable using a service you have paid for, which the 1star is for and not a reflection on any of the other staff. Overall an enjoyable stay in a good location

Dear Customer, Thank you for your review and for choosing our hotel for your stay. We are very sorry that our staff did not meet your expectations and that you found them rude and I hope that they have not behaved rudely towards you; they try to ensure that all customers in the dining room respect the basic rules of behavior (such as, for example, not taking the bread with your hands but using the appropriate tools, or not preparing toast stuffed with cheese in the machine that is only used to toast bread, because there could be customers allergic to lactose) so that everyone can have breakfast in safety and without anyone being left without a seat or without food. Sometimes, especially to those on holiday, this behavior may seem unfair (especially if they tell you something can't be done), but we assure you that it is never personal and that we do it for the good of our customers . Furthermore, this feedback allows me to remind you that the breakfast service is never included in the room price: breakfast is offered to those who sleep in the hotel, while external guests who do not have a room and do not stay in the structure, pay from €10 to €15. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered during your stay and look forward to having the opportunity to host you again in the future and provide you with an unforgettable and satisfying stay experience in all aspects. Cordially, Hotel Principe Torlonia

We spent 4 nights here to visit the Italian open tennis and sightseeing. I was rather worried as I had read some bad reviews but we had a very pleasant time in this hotel. We had booked superior rooms and they were very comfortable and serviced daily. The staff were very helpful. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. It is in a quiet area but bus stops and a metro nearby. It is easy to reach the city centre. We used buses every day. A supermarket and a good restaurant were less than 10 minutes walk away. The only complaint was the weather( lots of rain) so we couldn't take advantage of our balcony or eat breakfast in the garden.

Being a 4 stars hotel, it's unacceptable to have a person like him in the breakfast. He's rude, non sense, stupid. Even in the front desk, besides the ladies, the others were not kind with the guests. If you open an hotel, which means receive guests from around the world, the min you can do is have a trained staff to receive properly the guests.
