We have stayed at the Calypso twice now. Both visits were lovely, it is small and you get a feel for local life. They have their own parking right by the front door and in Italy that is rare. Rooms are spotless. Showers are small but you need to take into consideration that it is an older building refurbished and... More

Looking for a hotel near the archaeological site, we booked a couple of nights here and we're very pleasantly surprised! Car parking was the first surprise, the nearness to the site was the second, and the third was the extraordinary collection of bric a brac in the breakfast room...all lovingly presented around the room to make the most wonderful ambience... Breakfast was good. Had a really yummy Croissant style thing with Apricot baked in it. Bedroom was fairly good size. Bathroom was a little bit on the small side (teeny tiny shower cubicle). You do get some noise from the road (mostly cars beeping at the roundabout opposite the hotel). And you can get some noise from the corridor outside... More

Booked after reading excellent reviews, stayed here for 3 nights. Small family run hotel. The owners and staff could not be more helpful. The hotel is set back from the main road, therefore quiet inside. It is only about 400m from the second entrance of the Pompeii ruins (in a straight line so you can't get lost). Our room was... We had planned a day trip to visit the Pompeii excavations and did not expect to stay overnight. We did not have a reservation the owner of Il Principe restaurant personally called the Calypso for us and made the arrangements for us to stay. We were greeted by the owner, a very pleasant and courteous gentleman. We were able to... More

We needed a place to stay overnight and chose the Calypso Hotel in Pompeii. As noted the family can not be nicer. They make you feel very comfortable, and serve a lovely breakfast in a lovely decorated room. The beds are a little hard and the heat was not turned on, but we didn't ask. The lovely owner said we... We arrived in Pompei late one evening withour reservations, and stumbled upon this hotel. It is a family run establishment, with lots of smiles. The owners speak some English. The room was comfortable for 2 adults (queen bed) with two young children (bunk beds). The rate was 100 Euro which did include continental breakfast. At check-in I asked a young... More
