The hotel is a 3 stars hotel, with inside car parking, small rooms, but very clean, with a.c. and very kind service. The restaurant has excellent pizza, very reasonable prices. It's located 50 yards from Pompeii site, excellent solution for one night.

Just a short stroll from Pompeii’s ruins and so close to the train station. Eating at MEC was the perfect end to a glorious day in Pompeii. The service was excellent. The food presented well. Very tasty and fresh. I was well looked after. When travelling solo, such warm welcomes are a joy, and make spontaneous visits most satisfying. Highly recommend staying at ll Tesoro Smart Suite & SPA in historic centre of Naples.. Sister hotel to MEC.

After walking Pompeii ruins for 6 hours we stopped by here for dinner. Since we hadn’t eaten much I decided to splurge on lobster pasta for €25. The waiter said it would have lobster in the pasta and half a shell with lobster meat. Wrong. I got half of a cold lobster with maybe 2 bites of lobster meat that I had to fight to get out of the shell. The linguine was extremely greasy with 6 halves of cherry tomatoes with tough skin that I could not eat. I did not eat even half of it. He asked if I liked it and I said no and he apologized. My husband had the mixed grill which was mediocre as well as my mixed salad. They couldn’t even get the French fries right which is amazing since all the ones we’ve eaten in Italy for the past 2 months have been good. All this with a bottle of water and a bottle wine cost €86.25. What a disappointment rip off. Please avoid this tourist trap.

We travelled to Pompeii via train from Rome. Our objective was to explore the ruins of Pompeii. It was my third visit my husband's first. Our hotel was situated a very short walk from the gates leading to the ruins so we did not need to hire a car to get to them. The M.E.C. looked like an abandoned building from the railway station as we looked down on it. We walked quite easily from the station to the hotel. It was inviting and looked very cool in the end of summer heat. And so it proved to be, quiet efficient staff at the front desk happy to help two weary travellers with their bags up a spiral staircase to a delightful room with all amenities. Clean, cool and comfortable. Our evening meal very good and at a reasonable price, an average of 18Euros for a main. Breakfast was buffet style and included in the room price. The selection was very adequate and catered for most breakfasts people would want, hot, continental, a couple of slices of toast and cereal. The coffee was excellent.

We were taken here by our tour guide for a lunch break after visiting Pompei and were assured it offered good value for money. This was definitely not the case!!! There are no prices on any of the menus displayed outside or on the ones brought to our tables. We ordered 4 small bottles of water and were disgusted to be told that the price was €16. The waiter was also rude and dismissive and the whole experience felt rushed and uncomfortable.
