Picked this based on location and other reviews. Just as stated, Villa Franca is close to both the entrance to the ruins as well as the train - very reasonable walking distance. The entire staff was very personable along with a very friendly cat.
We wanted a cheap place to stay near the ruins of Pompeii. After a 10 min walk from the subway stop AND the main gates of the ruins, this was a pleasant surprise.

Many basic issues with this Hotel.
- mold in the bathroom tiles
- right beside the train track... very noisy
- toilet did not flush properly - sometimes did not

It’s well worth arranging with Villa Franca for a taxi. They have negotiated a rate with the driver. We met one couple who hasn’t done that and they paid a much higher price for their Taxi from the airport.
