It's all been said before, but there's another way of looking at the nautical theme, which starts out quirky, soon becomes comical and ends up annoying. It's supposed to be a hotel, not a ship's cabin, and a bed with sharp brass- bound corners is just plain stupid. These are clean bedrooms with simple breakfast served in the room. It... More

This hotel is one we have known for many years and it has the unusual feature of a mass of decorative details all related to sea-faring life - an eccentricity that is very endearing and indicates a degree of care and interest that goes beyond the need to appear appealing. This hotel aims to give an atmosphere that it wants... More

The nautical-theme decor looks a lot better (and more thoughtful) in person than on the website. While the courtyard, elevator and lobby are nothing special, the room was very clean and reasonably quiet -- given the hotel's location sandwiched between two fairly busy streets -- thanks to glazed windows. The best part was the owner & staff. Owner Claudio took... More

This hotel is excellently located for visiting Naples, it’s also clean, comfortable and well-priced. The staff is friendly. Really near the Mergellina train station and in front of boat departures to Ischia, Capri and Procida. I would very happily return.Great place for visiting London!

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Ausonia in the last week of September 2007. We were traveling from Siena to Ravello and had to stop over in Naples. I used Trip Advisor to look for hotels, and the Ausonia was given good reviews and was well-priced. Naples is certainly an acquired taste. If you've never been there (we... More

From the outside the buidling does not at all seem like there would be a hotel hiding inside. It is directly across from the Mergelina Port in Naples and there is a sign out front. The hotel staff were all quite friendly. The room was a reasonable rate. There is nothing fancy about this...but again it was very clean. The... More

The Ausonia is a good option for travellers in Naples. It is in Mergellina, a safe pleasant seaside area with plenty of restaurants and bars, both on the coast and the streets inland. The hotel is definitely quiet - protected from the noisy mayhem of Naples by being in a courtyard of a nineteenth century building, away from the traffic.... More

The Ausonia Hotel is a destination in itself! The hotel is decorated in a nautical theme including the room key chains! It is a charming hotel and the nautical theme is actually done well. Located right across the street from the hydrofoil to Capri and the Amalfi Coast it is in great location. My husband and I spent two nights... More

This hotel was extremely clean with wonderful showers. The clerks at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful! We paid 115 Euros in September and it was well worth the price, especially for the great location it was in. It is within walking distance of the train station and many, many shops.

We stayed 3 nights at the Ausonia in May 2004 in rooms 4 and 28. Ausonia is a hotel ** situated on floor 2 and 3. The reception and the breakfast room is at the ground floor. The reception (opened day and night) helps much with plans and advices. The airport is 45 minutes taxi and 20 euros. Ausonia is... More
